Welcome to scam-ville.  I've seen my fair share of this, lately.  Called from a private number and asked for me by name.  Gave an address that was added to my credit report due to an error as the address where their process server will deliver "legal documents".  Caller gave me a number to call to have the "documents" rerouted.  Number given was 626-872-3103 and she gave me the name Numark and Associates.  The only companies that came up on google were a tech-support consultant company and a company that makes DJ equipment.  I informed her that my state (Alabama) does not use process servers, that the local Sheriff's Department serves all subpoenas and complaint which require an answer through the court system.  This one screams scam.  Old information that was incorrect to begin with and was removed from my credit reports a long time ago, refusal to give any pertinent information, and making false legal claims.  Don't engage these people, don't verify or give them any information.  If you do decide to call them back, don't give them any information.  Don't admit to anything.  Make them give you their address and send them a certified letter requesting verification of the debt bearing your signature by mail.  If you are able to get them to give you their address, (which I doubt because these scammers do not like to give it out) please post it here.  And don't forget to report, report, report.  Your local authorites, your state authorities, the FTC and FBI all need to know about these criminals.  Don't ever, ever, EVER give them any credit card information or money.  You will be HARD pressed to get your money back when you do find out that this is a scam.

I go one to scam

just received call at my office to have me  called back .  same information  they are bulies and make you feel like scum.  Provided false legal claims .  You google Numark and Associates nothing comes up for a debit collector  WHO ARE ?!  Phone # given 626-427-2955 to have legal documents re routed.

Got a call from unknown ID and they said I needed to be home for portal papers to be delivered and that I needed to call Numark and Associates at 1-626-427-7022.

When foreign 3rd world scamming criminals tell you they're sending 'legal papers', it's not the kind they use in Colorado. More like 'Charmin'. Tell them you'll be happy to return it - a little later.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I got a phone call today from a block number and they left a message saying to call back that I had a complaint filed against me.,. Never heard of these people. Who are they? they gave me this number 626-506-2943

I got a call on my house phone and my cell phone from the same person. The number was "No Caller ID" on my cell and "Private" on my home phone. A woman name Rebecca from "Legal Support Services" left a message stating that she had tried to deliver paperwork to me at my home address, which she recited but wasn't completely correct. She also said she tried to deliver them to my workplace, which she recited but I hadn't work there in over 3 years. She said the paperwork needed my signature immediately. She also said that either me or my attorney needed to call to reschedule (reschedule what, I am not sure). She also gave me a phone number to call back, 626-427-7311 for a company called Numark and Associates. I called them back because on the answering machine I could not understand the company name. The first time I called, I blocked my number and got an answering machine. The second time I called, without blocking my number, they answered. When she answered, she didn't give a company name, she just said "Hello". So, I asked her the company name, and again she said it so fast I couldn't understand what she was saying so, I made her spell it out for me. At that point I told her she tried to call this number but, she had the wrong number. She tried to get more information from me but, I just hung up. When I researched the name on Google, all I could come up with was an Energy and Environmental Company based in Washington D.C.  A friend of mine had gotten a similar call about a month ago, calling from "Legal Support Services" but for a different company but a similar situation. Both our calls were scams. It just amazing how many people actually fall for the scams and end up sending people money or giving them their personal information. If it seems like a scam, do not give them any information and do not verify any information they tell you, whether its correct or not!

Got a message for one of my employees today from Numark and Associates.  Phone # 626-427-7311.  Said they wanted to have her served but could be avoided if I had her call them.  SCAM!!

My elderly mother got a call from them saying that they had tried to serve me etc. I called them back and asked them the name of the company. The woman wouldn't tell me kept saying that she needed my name and file number. I said you can't tell me the name of your company without a file number? Finally she told me the company was Numark Assoc. I google them and like everyone else here only found some energy environmental company in washington d.c. by that name. I asked the woman what her company did and she again wouldn't tell me again saying she needed my name and file number. I continued to question her about the company and refused to give her my name until she finally just hung up on me. I feel if she's a legit company then she'd have no problem telling me who and what they were. The phone number is different thought the one they told my mother was 626 531 0722

Something called "Legal Support Services" has been involved in scams on 800notes for some time.   Possibly located in Southern California, but I don't know where.   The name "Mark Hernandez" sometimes appears with something called Land Mark and also with Legal Support Services. Also associated with something called New Mark and Associates.  They tend to use 626 area codes for call back so I'm thinking it is possibly in San Gabriel valley area of Southern California. Something called Southern Acquisitions appears as well.  Many 626 area code call back numbers.

Just received a phone call from a 626-460-0107 number. The man who did not provide a name stated he was was looking for me and calling on behalf of someone else. I responded who is this and what is the nature of this call? In which he responded; I'm calling from Numark and associates  on behalf of Legal support services. I immediately cut him off and said; stop  talking in circles. What do you want? He responded; you hard someone and you need to call this number and provided an 800 number. This is definitely a scam. I end of telling him not to call my phone again and hung up. He called back and left a message stating I needed to have my attorney call 626-506-2943 and they would be forwarding the information to my employer. Do not give these scammers any information. This is not a collection agency. Especially saying that I harmed someone. That's ludicrous and unimaginable.

Did anyone try calling them back to see what it is?

First, thank you to all who left info. Got a call from 626-460-0107 from Mark of Legal Services. Did have my last 4 digits of Social #, which is irritating. Said Kline and Associates was trying to serve me, but even though he spoke very clearly on all else, slurred that name so not sure. Did the whole have you or your attorney contact them, but said to call 323-929-7443! That is a cell phone in California according to one site. Searched info on the 323 number and people said it was same thing, scam fake lawsuit company.
