In any event, no way are they calling from MS or any government agency. Government agencies are not involved in private debt disputes. No legitimate process server calls you up in advance.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. - keke7704 replies to sallyGot the call from 6622603847...
Saying I owe a debt her name is Jessica Lynn!!!
Called me on my job with this bull about arbitration department and owing $400 to a cash advance online! I know it's [***]. - sportsmomThis makes the 3rd caller saying I'm going to be served with whatever. the first number was 276-243-2811, the second number was 662-318-3328 from Belzoni, MS; and the just now the number was 662-260-3847.
When i talked to the second number she was rude. would not tell me where she was from and the business. So I told her I wasn't verifying anything_ her name was Monica (and she wasn't from Belzoni, MS)
SICK OF THE SCUM AND SCAMS - victoriacalled my job!!! I called back and they lady claimed that there were some claims against me in their office?!?! told her I would sue if they called my job again. she said " you do that". I hung up.

- Anonym| 1 replyThese fools keep calling my job looking for a deceased person. I doesn't matter how many times they are told the person they're looking for is dead, they keep calling back. They're completely idiots...you'd think they would have enough sense to contact the deceased person family. However, dumb***es are calling that person's previous job.
If you call them back you're on hold 10 minutes. No one ever picks up.- Call type: Debt collector

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
