- stefystefThey are calling my job now. I don't know who these people are, but I don't respond to these scammers. If they have a court summons, then SERVE ME!!! File the case in the courts and call me in. If not, leave me the hell alone. It is an automated voice and a robot voice. I don't take this seriously. If they want to file a case against me, then let them. I got other things to worry about.
They can try this nonsense in New York State, but this is not the state to play these games. The NY State Attorney General is very aggressive with these scammers, so they rarely want to mess with the State of New York.
If I get information about them, I will report them to the AG and let them handle it. These scammers will stop quick when the NY authorities get on them.- Call type: Debt collector

- SamSecond call from this number with a voice mail message about a summons and charges. It was a prerecord message-same one both times.
- Steve Douglas| 1 replyI called it back. It was quite interesting. The same lady answered as left the recording. They ask for the case number, which is good to have handy. Then they ask your name.... Then it goes into the traditional scam artist trying to phish new information as well as telling you to settle out of court via a green dot visa. I asked politely several times when the 48 hours starts as I would love to see the process server. This was rebutted with a plea to take their offer and avoid jail time. To which I politely asked how I would be found guilty in court if they wouldn't tell me the name of the county in which the papers would be served. To which she then asked what county I lived in. This went in a circle until I made up a county name. She said she would contact the general district court in my county after the phone call was over to begin the process to establish a lawsuit for my failure to pay $600 dollars. I told her I was in debt over 1,900 dollars and that was why she had called. This lady lost track of who was lying to who more. Anyways... Yeah total scam.

- Alicia SSame thing happened to me. First they called from 4123461349 and left the same message regarding a summons. I knew it was scam and blocked the number. Then today I got the same call from 785-227-9403 with the same message. I reported it to the FBI. These dirt bags look up old debt and buy call lists to harass people. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. This is a scam. First of all in my state it is illegal for debt collectors to garnish wages or harass you so that was a dead giveaway. The only people who can come after you for bad debt is the IRS and the Federal Gov't here. Everyone else has to report you to the credit bureau. You may want to call your mobile carrier and report the numbers as scam calls.

- Laurie EllisThey keep calling me, a recording, saying that there is fraudulent activity associated with my name and social security number then they give me a case number and the same number to call back and request to speak to their legal department. Rather RUDE! The call is supposedly being recorded and he asks my name, and then seems to be looking me up, then asked for my last 4 digits of my social security number. At that point I was pissed and said I will not give you that information, I do not know who you are or why you are calling me and said I will just wait to get the summons and hung up. How dare they. Please help and make them stop calling me!!!!!
- Caller: Bob Sanders Pre Trial Summons
- melissaI called them back, he said they were "pretrial services". I asked "pretrial services for what" and he answered "the courts". I asked "what courts". He said "all of them". I laughed and said there is no "all of them courts" he hung up on me :)
- Caller: Pretrial Services
- CWG40Same old , same old, group of white collar criminals that go around calling people up and saying there are “charges” against them. Usually there are supposed to be two fraud charges (they love that two charge nonsense) and that these charges are going brought in your county. Some sort of "fraudulent activity" concerning your SSN#. Which is stupid. They change CID and phone numbers all the time and nobody has been able to find them.
They will not ID themselves properly; they usually say “processing division” or " pretrial services" or some such other totally meaningless phrase when you ask who they are.
If they have a valid debt, tell them to send you a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good. Of course they won’t do this, so just ignore them and block their calls.- Caller: Informational post
- joshuayeah they say for Emilio fis they want you to pay by credit card or western union scammmm

Tax time you know. I asked the lady what debt it was, she replied for a bad check, I said I havent written a check in over 15 years and told her you cant take a person to court for bad debt. She was so messed up she kept on going. I told her I would call back. guess it took her a year to call back. Ignorant *i&%$#@...

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
