- m| 2 repliesThey phoned my cell said they were from the "crime division". I called back from a different number and they were with the IRS US Attorney's Office. They phoned me 4 times in a row threatening me. When I called back frm the landline they immediately recorded the number in to their system. I believe they are extortionists and someone (I'm going to) we all need to line up and COMPLAIN! This needs to stop.
- Caller: "Crime Division" US Attorney IRS
- anonymous replies to m| 1 replyi received email saying they have a lawsuit threatning my job saying they are going to report me to ss and credit bureau
and send copy to my job they want to arrest me - Elspeth replies to anonymousIt's a scam. Email is not a valid legal means of serving you a court summons. Also, debt is civil, not criminal, so threatening you with arrest is yet another violation of the law. Please do disregard the email - send it to the FBI at their Internet Crime Complaints Center - www.ic3.gov - and delete any others you get. These scamming losers can't do zip to you.
Per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller (or emailer) who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof of debt/proof that your caller/emailer can collect said debt. Refusal to mail this documentation within five days of their initial contact with you is an another violation of federal law, and as such, you should not pay them. - Oceana Jefferson| 2 repliesI received an email from them saying they had a law suit against me for 430 on a loan. I never received a check, accepted a loan, or anything of that matter and they were demanding money right then or they were going to send an warrant for my arrest to my local Sheriffs office. They also stated I could loose my job and more things. These people barely spoke English.
- Caller: Sr. Attorney Allen Wilson
- upset replies to Oceana Jefferson| 1 replyThey send me the same thing from general attorney the y well a rest me if I don't send them money . I cry every day so stress that I wanted to hurm myself of being scared when they would show up the sheriff at my door that they well take me to court.
- Tamianth replies to upsetIts a scam. Stop fretting! Besides, you can not be arrested for owing a debt real or not. This is a extortion scam operation and the email should be filed with a complaint to the Cyber crimes division of the FBI at IC3.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
