Received message on my cell from Ms. Barret or Farret, hard to distinguish - she mumbles her name, that the person she was looking for has a claim pending against them and to call immediately. She left this phone number with a specific case number which is probably their internal tracking number. She said if the person doesn't call back by tomorrow they will assume all contact information (address and work address) is correct and they will continue to do whatever they're doing.

She doesn't leave any company name, just her last name and phone number with their case number. I should call and tell them they have the wrong number but then I'll probably be asked if I know the person then I might be called a lair. I don't need extra drama in my life...I have enough thank you very much.

I have had the same thing happen to me, just the last few days. They were supposed to be at my address from 9 to 12. No show yet! These people need to be stopped. I have contacted my county sheriff and county department. All I can say is they better not show here.  Sorry you are having to go through this. You can also call you attorney state general and report them.

I got a call last night from a restricted number and the lady said that I needed to contact  1-844-292-8576 and provide the file #. I asked in referred to what and she said I was being summoned. Before hanging up she said to call now (to mention it was after 8pm) Thought to myself if I'm being summoned, that comes from the courts and courts are closed at that time. I called regardless and  after 3 rings a recording cane up stating to leave name and file #. Recording did not mention whom was I calling nor no company name just a plane recording.

My mon recieved a call yesterday Sept 29th at 6:20pm night and they aske for me, telling my mother that I need to show  in court because I was a witness to a case. They gave my mother a case number FL 144575 and this number 844-292-8576 that I need to call right away. Then they asked my monther if this was the correct address becuase they have tried to reach me several times via letters and that all letter have been returned. Then,  my mother asked the lady how she got her private cell number and according to my mom, the lady gave her a lame excuse, by saying to mom that her private cell ny=umber was registered in their data base, bla, bla bla,. Then, I called back several hours later and it according to them it is a law firm. I do not have any problems with the law or any pending issues with the court system.

Got a call to my cell from an unknown number.  Lady asked for me with my full name and she also confirmed my home adress.  She said that they would deliver A summons from court on 12/3/14 and me or someone had to Be there to sign,  I said I wasn't going to be home and asked what it was.  She said some court documents and gave a docket number that starts with SL and many numbers and letters; also gave me this number to call 844-292-8576 and she said that I can explain and they will hold documents.   I asked her number and she said it was 844-286-5871 and her name was Irene Gonzales .  Sounds like a scam because I don't owe anything to anyone.

Don't fall for these scams. First, if you do owe a debt that has not been adjudicated realize that it is a civil matter, not a criminal one. No one will come to arrest you, take you to jail, etc. LAW ENFORCEMENT/THE POLICE WILL NOT BE INVOLVED so don't let these leeches scare you. Secondly, if they do want to sue you they have to do so in the court of your jurisdiction (where you reside), not theirs. So, if you live outside of FL or even in a county different from the one that they mention in their narrative, it is a lie. Third, no one can compel you to be home to accept a summons or notice of appearance. The service, if they opt to do it by person, is done by an individual who has to locate you. There is no law that states that you have to be home to accept it. Otherwise, service is via mail, usually registered return receipt so that the company can prove it tried to serve you. So, don't let that alter your behavior either. If you speak to them ask them who the original creditor is. Do you recognize the name? They have to provide the original creditor (say Macy's, Capital One, etc.) and NOT the firm, collector, outfit that purchased the debt or who is trying to collect it. Do not agree to anything. Before speaking, if you have the capability to record the call (or even if you don't), inform the leech to hold on a second and then say that the call is being recorded. State your name after the real (or not) click to start the "recording", the time, the date, then ask the caller to ID his/herself and to have them state the purpose of the call and  confirm that they are aware, for the record, that the call is being recorded. If they are legitimate they will not hang up. Guess what these leeches will do - I'll bet your hear a rapid click.

Past few days a person has left messages:
    1.  threating will legal action
    2.  serving me court paper
    3.  IRS payments overdue

    SCAM!!!!!

I returned the call, didn't give my name or reference number. I acted like my age 73. I asked where I was calling. Only after 6 times asking the same question, Emily shared that they were from the Richard Carlson Group, handling civil and criminal matters. She pushed for a reference number, which I told her I forgot and she could not pull up the information about my case without the reference number.

After searching, I can't find anything online about the Richard Carlson Group.

After my many questions, Emily became frustrated and asked me not to waste her time and hung up.

    SCAMMERS.
