Leaves a voice mail claiming to be a private courier attempting to deliver sealed documents. The guy sounds like he is putting on a fake southern accent. Leaves phone number 844-466-6171 for questions

Received a call from this number stating a court summons was to be delivered to my address.  Said he was from Nationwide Courier and wanted to do this at 2pm tomorrow. Did not identify himself or who he was representing.  Sounds pretty fishy so researched it and it sounds like the other mentioned in above scenario.

Troy Stevens is the name he gave me. He said he was a Private Currier in Hardin County. Number show up on caller ID as out of area or unknown. 1st call I didn't answer, but he left the 844-466-6171 # as a return #. Stated something about a claim # and discrepancies in their investigative process involving my SSN? Funny, I talked to the little turd today, and he had no idea what the "parcel" was or who from. Wanted to know if I remember the notice I got last week in the mail. Told him I had no idea what he was talking about, he wanted to give me a number to call to verify. Told him it wasn't my job to make sure someone I didn't know did their job. Told him if it's that important he and the other "party" could get their crap together and get with me later. I had already researched this turd, already know he's not showing up between 1 and 3 today. What a tool.

Received a call from someone today did not identify themselves. Stated he had a case number and that they had found discrepancies with my Social Security number. Requested that I call this number and provide a case number and to consider myself served. I did place a call back to them. And was told that they were a collection agency for an old credit card. I requested that they email me the paperwork in regards to this account. At this point that I am still waiting on the email.

    No one.
I got a call saying his name was Jack Mitchell or something like that and was going to deliver documents to me between 12 -3 and if there was a no way of finding me that he would put me as refusal to get documents. This is like a few times I get a call like this with different names and supposedly getting documents for something I don't even know about.

My 15 year old son received this call on his cell phone and it scared him to death.  He called me at work frantic because the call sounded so threatening.  Same scenario.  Woman identified herself as Samantha Taylor saying she had some kind of documents and she was on her way to our house or place of business and we (my son) needed to make ourselves available to her within the next hour.  There must also be a witness present when the documents are signed.  Not meeting up with her today means further action will be taken.  I am so sick of these calls.  It's bad enought that I get them on my cell phone and at home but now they are upsetting my son.  Why can't anyone get these people???

Received the same...but from Alan Marks. I find it odd that everyone listed has both first names.

A man, claiming to be someone named David Jones and he gave what he called a case number. He said he'd be arriving "today". The message had been on my answering machine all day, so if he came by, I guess I missed him! :)

Real legal servers do not call in advance, they just show up.  Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Nationwide Courier scam.   Claims to have document he or she is supposed to deliver.  Call you in advance.  Which no legitimate process server does.  Then, if you have any questions, they give you another number to call.  Two part scam.  Ignore and block.   This Nationwide Courier has a long history of debt scamming on 800notes.

I also got a call from this number she said her name was Daniele and that she was a private courier and would be delivering papers that needed to be signed and a witness plus ID needed to be presented at the time of the signing and if I didn't make myself available she would mark it as a refusal to comply and further actions would be taken, well every time I call the number everybody to with another customer and to busy to take my call so I see that as a refusal to comply.

They are bullies! My husband received the exact same call stating the exact same thing you mention. He wasn't about to take off work for this so I made it a point to be home at the time she said she would be delivering the paperwork...between 12 and 2pm. Well, needless to say no one ever showed up. Some type of scam! Don't give them any info. The scary part is they knew my husbands name and somehow got his cell number.
