I got A call saying I was going to be served at work unless I called. I called back they said it was regarding a payday loan from 2008. I told them I paid it and had a resolution letter. I also told them 3 other numbers have been calling on the same debt. He asked it I wanted to settle over the phone or go to court. I asked where the court was and he said he didn't know only the state located knew and it will tell me on my summons. I told him to serve me at home and he said good luck in court and hung up. Funny thing is I spoke to a guy at another number moments before and they sound the same. I believe these two numbers are tied together 844-332-1171 & 844-560-7499...scam

I got a message from this number stating it was the union and that I had been served. They never said a name nor did they leave a reference number. I don't know what these people want or who they are. I tried calling this number back and no one answer's. It just says if you know the extension, or dial the extension, or 0 for the operator. I don't have anyone I owe $ too for any reason. I believe that they're hoaxes trying to get $ from anyone who'll fall for it.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

They have call me from this number 844-560-7499 leaving a voice mail stating that they are from the Attorney Generals Legal Department. I call them back and tried to find out who they were with and the lady was trying to get me to give her my last name, when she was not successful in doing that she got mad. I stated that I have looked them up online and the lady hung up the phone in my face. It has SCAM written all over it.

Scam.. left message stating that they had not been able to serve me at my home so now they were going to do so at work and they were going to call my HR dept and have me served.. Funny thing.. I work at home for myself.. good luck contacting my HR dept... LOL

They said if I don't want to be served I need to call them back and have them send a release form stating that I was cooperating with them..

No company name, no name of the person and the fact that they are "warning me" about being served screams scam.

Left message- not stating who the message was for- about a summons, and that wages would be taken from my pay.
SCAM. No one answered the return call. What are they trying to do? Extortion?  I am going to report this to the FBI.

This lady calls me saying im gonna have to go to court and they will b serving me thru my place of employment hr department lol I thought it was one of the Capinellis tryna extort money from me but its a hoax I called back the lady doesnt know anything about me I have no legal place of employment

Left a message that I had two counts against me and they tried to summon me at home. They wanted me to call 844-560-4099 to fill out a form so I won't be summoned at work. They didn't leave no company name or reference number. Its a Scam.

This number called my son and the vm stated that he needed to he served.  He got worried and called them.  He spoke to someone and they stated they were looking for me.  They want to serve me.  Well I have lived in the same residence for 15 years so if they wanted to serve me they should know where I am

Had a voice message on my phone at work saying they were required to state my rights. However, they did not state a name of who they were trying to reach.  Said I was wanted on 2 charges and they were unsuccessful in serving me at my home. I was to call the number to avoid being served at work.  Sounds like a recording and not a live person. Tried calling out of curiosity but just get a fast busy signal. A scam no doubt as I know nothing about any legal issues I might have LOL.

I got this message today and thanks to Google, I was able to look it up and found this site. At first I was scared because I filed bankruptcy over the summer but then the more I read about it the more I realized-- I was given the same message as everyone else. I'm going to ignore it. :)

Got the same message. Have no clue who they are. I am retired and don't have an employer. They keep calling and saying they are going to garnish my wages.

I just got a call from 804-560-7499 threatening that they were going to serve me papers and to tell my employer or some such nonsense and then tells me to call the number if I don't want to be served. It's a scam. They didn't ask for me by name or anything.

Some one named Claire Johnson called my mom says they got 2 charges out on me. I called them back and talked to a guy they said its from a loan in 2008 that I had paid twice. They want $1,337 or I am going to court and could do 1-3 years incarcerated or probation.
