First number they were calling from was 844-221-4359, I put it on my phones reject list, and now I am getting calls from 84-776-4717. Threats that I am being arrested if I do not pay. This is insane, how do we stop these harassing calls?!?!?!

ID themselves as "Rapid Legal Services".  Claim they aren't debt collectors.  Right.  They are "process servers".  Right.
In the past this group has been associated (on 800notes) with something called "Greensburg Mediation Services".  Supposedly located in Washington State but there is no such company listed.  Nothing for Rapid Legal Services either .  No such records on official Secretary of State for Washington State records.

This number called my husband. The guy said his name was Mike from rapid Legal.
Said that if my husband didnt call back he would file charges and have a arrest warrant issued for his arrest. I am sick and tired of debt collectors calling and threatening people with being arrested. This has to stop.

My husband & I both got a call from this number, a Melissa Johnson stating that they were serving me with a class b felony charge for bank fraud for $713.00 from back in 5/2011 and I would be arrested tomorrow. I don't have any outstanding bills nor have written any bad checks EVER! I also spoke to a Valerie Thomas and she told me to call Harbor Mediations who put me on the phone with an attorney Joseph Allen. They are located in Maine. Apparently hes filing the felony charges against me at 10am tomorrow and a sherriff is arresting me at 9am tomorrow. I searched harbor mediations and this attorney and they too came up as a scam.

    Frustrated
I received a call from Andrew Sanders with Rapid Legal Services.  He said he had received 2 felony complaints in his office.  He said they'd file them with my residing county and have me arrested and that he would personally help.  Uh huh.  Seriously?  Also, they used my freaking maiden name, which I haven't used in longer than any statute of limitations.  Take my ass to court.  Good luck with that.  Just tired of the bottom feeders.

First the man said he was calling on a legal matter but needed to pass me over to someone who could give more details.  A woman came on and said there were 2 felony charges on me and she needed more info before she could tell me more.  I told her to give me her info and I would have either the Sheriff or Police Chief to check her out.  She got belligerent and said something about not giving her info and I hung up.  I think she said it was Regal.

I just received a call too from this POS company.  Some guy said they were going to file with DA office, I said I'm not aware of anything. He passed me to a Thomas lady who in turn could not give me any details of who is filing a felony warrant arrest on me....papers are sealed.  Told her I know my rights...she got very snippy with me, trying to quote a penal code...I was walking dog at time. I told her I need something in writing to rectify any outstanding debts (which I'm on top of my credit reports...nope, don't know who it can be).  She said she is legally by phone notifying me.  I told her give me a # of who is filing this facticious law suit (without formal legal papers served).  I told her to call back leave a message to whom & where to call for this info since I was walking the dog and didn't have a pen on me.  She called back 2X but failed to leave a message with a contact number of the filing party.  Oops.  Need to send letter to FDCPA today.

    Legal?? no.  SCAM - YES!
You are not warned if a summons is coming and even if you did owe, that is not a felony.
Report them - contact your state attorney general's office.  Also mention the calls to your employer.

The invisible men will be the only ones detaining you. No answering machine, these clowns can't threaten you or leave what's meant to be scary, fictitious messages. Shut off the answering machine and ignore all unknown numbers and never hear from them again.

I have also received numerous calls and threats in reference to my husband having, guess what..... that's right 2 felony warrants and again, the da is working with them in my county, and surprise surprise... the sheriff will be serving those warrants in 48 hours.funny how everyone keeps reporting they have 2 felony warrants, never one. Nor three. I did call the police the first time because I was afraid there was something I didn't know and they would do what they said.  This was several years ago. The officer that came out to take my report was familiar with them. He said it is a scam and they don't arrest you for not paying your bills in this century and there is no debtors prison.  He said they would NEVER warn you ahead of time if they were gonna serve a warrant on you.  When they called back I asked for all the account info and something in writing showing we owed this.  They typed up an email saying pretty much "you owe our clients and we're going to collect through your local sheriff" blah blah blah. They didn't even try to make the email look real. Don't fall for it.  I did twice and every time I paid it another so called attorney would call saying the same exact thing just doubled the amount we supposedly owed each time.  I knew we didn't have anything outstanding but I thought what if... and that's what they are hoping for. And they give you no time to think it over. They still call, but keep using different names. I just answer in the setter voice I can muster that, yes, I will take a message, and yes, I will make sure and give it to him and that, yes, we wI'll have a good laugh over it when he gets home. They usually hang up on me.

I just got a call similar to that. Funny thing is I work for a circuit court, I highly doubt any of this is legit. I have never had any criminal charges. His is all over a $10 library bill. Such cases a joke

    SCAMBUSTER
Amy banks, with rapid legal, called my place of employment.   In a demanding tone asked if i was [my name].  I answered yes what is this about and she started with "i am filing legal documents..."  i cut her off and told her to never call me again and hung up.   I have been getting these calls for 10 years since applying for a loan online through a unsecure website.   They shopped my identity info to 100s of bogus loan companies in foreign countries, etc.  I get these scammers about once a year and report them online to all the "who called me" sights.   They harass you at work, your family, call your hr dept., threaten to arrest you with bogus warrants, want your bank info, location info to "serve you", etc.   Fbi warns do not talk to them.  Do not give them any info.  Hang up and tell your employer it is a scam in case they get calls from these jerks falsely accusing you of a felony!  Thieves!!  Spoof cards can change caller id to show any phone number or "sheriffs dept", "district attorney" etc.   Don't fall for it!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
