Called 2x threatening to come to my work place (good luck getting past security) and saying I would be served with legal documents - if you are going to do so then do, other wise stick a sock in it and mail your letter. Threatening calls are not only inapporiate they are illegal.

Also of note - calling to notify someone your going to serve documents is not how it works... in fact it's counter productive.

Got call too something. She claimed to be Crystal Green from United local carrier services..same thing. They have been calling my house and phone constantly trying to reage a debt from 12years ago that was paid 9years ago. They call from different numbers won't leave message on house phone because they stated they were coming to my house for me for allegations & I was to make sure I had somebody to watch my kids ,put away my firearms &lock up my dogs..so I called the cops who were hung up on when asked for their actual address..so they won't leave message on my home phone but do leave them on my cell occasionally. What I think is co-inky-dink is these calls started 2weeks after my mom passed away when we went into probate & I started looking for mortgage to buy the home we have shared...also checked credit report nothing there...DO NOT speak to these people they are trying to reset clock on old debts..which I don't get because I know this debt was settled a long time ago..I have not received anything in the mail..I get credit card offers like crazy....oh, they got real nasty when I returned the first call & wouldn't give my ss# and point blank said send something in the mail you sound fraudulent to me.

The same things have been happening to me over the last couple weeks I first got a call from Crystal Green who wanted all this information I refuse to give it to her then said she would be by my home or my work to deliver some legal documents that required my signature, also said I need to have a valid ID on hand to sign for these documents told her I'll see you when you get here never saw her then a week later (today)I get a call from Thomas Green saying that he is with US one express and needs to deliver these documents that didn't get delivered to me last week and to call the number of 844-891-8228 if I had any questions and then to please let them know to put a stop order on it if things get resolved. He also said he would be delivering documents to me today he left a message on my machine let's see if he shows up! I have worked collections for the last 12 years and this is illegal as hell

    Angry Husband
My wife received a call from this number threatning to serve her for a charge on credit card that she didn't remember having a balance on from 2004. Vivian Ford was the name and said she had to pay the balance immediately or she would be served and have to pay 5 times more in court. They called her by her maiden name, but had her SSN and old address while in college. Luckily, she did not give them any info and we immediately contacted our laywer. This site was extremely helpful to validate my thoughts that this was a scam. There was an attempt to sign into her Credit Card log in also, so it seems like a full attempt at her identity. Be careful with any call that has that much urgency to pay and no updated info about you. It's likely BS.

Got call today from one Skylar Daniels from "License Courier", stating pretty much the same thing everyone else has said.
They have legal documents for me to sign...have 2 forms of ID available...and as soon as a courier is available they will send my documents to my last know address or employer.  Lots of luck with that!  Haven't worked for anyone since 1984!   The last thing she said was.....my name..."You have been notified".  Aren't there "Elder Abuse" laws?  I'm over 70!!!!
    Same number to return call....844-891-8228.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

    2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
    3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
    5. You will receive a court summons
    6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
    7.  Anything similar to above,
     a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
     b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities

I just received a call from this number. The man asked for my father (who happens to live in another state) and claimed to be a courier with legal documents he needed to deliver to him. I happened to have my father on my cell phone at the time so I asked my dad what it was about and he was completely clueless so I took the "courier's" info and told him I'd give it to my dad. I asked for the phone number of the company that issued the documents for delivery and the guy slipped up saying the phone number HERE is...I asked him if that was AMS' number and not his and he seemed a bit flustered and assured me it was AMS' number. Then I googled the number and found a bunch of scam alerts!

I received this very same call from on this past Friday from this number claiming to be an authorized carrier who would be serving me papers at my last known employer's office. They left this phone number for me to call. Fortunately I was driving out of town and could not make any payments at that time. I tried calling them back today to further discuss as I did believe it could be legitimate; however, no one would answer the phone and there was no business message on the phone. While speaking to them on Friday they did try to get me to make a payment of $655 with my credit card which I refused.

Typical ploy of the debt scammers.   They  ID themselves as "couriers" instead of outright debt collectors to make you think you are going to be serve with papers.  They feel if they can scare you , you might give them some money.  Block their calls.  Do not talk to them,  do not give them any information.  They might be picking on you because of your age and they may  feel you are vulnerable in some sense.   Of course you haven't been notified of anything.  Total debt scammer.

For crisssakes, they're debt scammers!  Don't give them anything!  Don't talk to them.  Do not give them any money or any information.   No legitimate process server notifies you in advance they are going to serve you with papers.
