I did as well. Not sure what this is about!

Received a threatening call and harassing my work but won't explain details to "documents" they have for me

They left a voicemail on my mom's phone.
We tried calling back because they open at 7 and never received an answer.
Not sure what it's about.

I first received several calls in one day from a woman with the same area code as me, claiming she was en route to my work to deliver me some "documents" for a case against me.  When I asked what documents they were and who she was calling on behalf of, she said she couldn't tell me what the document were because they were sealed and that I had to wait until she got to my job to find out.  She also gave the me the number 855-426-6232 to call with a case number and then abruptly hung up.  When I called the 855 number, I spoke to another woman who said I have a claim against me from January 2011 from some payday loan company that I've never heard of, nor have I received money from.  When I kept asking for proof of the signed contract from that company, she just kept telling me that I have to wait for the person to arrive with the documents.  Then she as well abruptly hung up.  I have no idea what any of that is about.

Scam.. Stupid people told em to come get me...

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

This person calls my cell phone many times a day, and also called me at work.  They say they are on their way to deliver "documents" in 15 minutes.  They provide this 855-26-6232 phone number and a case number.  No one ever shows up.

They are calling me at work saying that they are on there way to bring me court papers!

They say they are Capital Harris Miller Associates.  Also known as CHM Capital.  Long history of debt scamming on 800 notes.

These people are bad news.   They claim to be a law firm.  They call relatives.  They threaten  criminal prosecution.   Standard stuff that debt scammers do.   Don't talk to them, don't return their calls. Block them.  And report them if they engage in threats.

Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know

If you have received a call stating:

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
7.  Anything similar to above,
 a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
 b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
Call blocker is your best bet.  These callers tend to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community.  Also anyone they think might have had financial difficulties in the past.   They have all of your financial information and a lot of personal information.  The calls are not random--they are phone predators.  Never call them back because if you talk to them they may sense a vulnerability for some reason and then hammer you with repeated calls. The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).    [abstracted from another site]

They continue to bother  you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion.

Filed this number with the FTC plus called the police to make report. They stated they were with Capital Harris Miller And calling for a online payday loan. It did scare me at first. They made the mistake by calling my job they are now involved. I hope they get shut down and go to jail for making threats to people.
