- Concerned| 5 repliesInitially received call from 303-333-9999 (lady, no accent) claiming they need to verify my address to serve me papers on a claim against me. When inquired I was given this 2103 number to speak to Spencer Johnson, an attorney from Steven Loyd Group. This man (young, no accent) insisted I pay $3903.30 or face consequences before a judge in court, he was very pushy and intimidating. The debt was to Washington Mutual from 2009. I have never owed a debt to this company nor have any outstanding accounts anywhere. The police confirmed this is a scam.

- Concerned (update) replies to Concerned| 4 repliesConfirmed this was for a Chase account and they apparently merged with Washington Mutual. Wife is going to deal with it today, will follow up and let you know the out come. Hoping they might settle.
- Moreen replies to Concerned (update)Make sure to get an invoice or statement to verify you have a debt. There are many scams out there trying to take your money.
- AnneB.| 8 repliesReceived a strange message two days ago stating they needed my address so they could deliver a document to me and quoted a file number. I disregarded it as a scam and deleted the message. Got another message today saying I would be reported as uncooperative and the file would be processed in court. I decided to call the 2103 number and was put through to a Ms. Robinson. She told me they were collecting a debt on a Bank of America MasterCard, which I've never held an account. She mentioned several times that it would go on to court for my refusal to pay....and 'if' I received the documents I would have to go before a judge. I'm calling it a scam.
- Caller: Could not understand the name
- Call type: Debt collector
- Priscilla R. replies to AnneB.This just happened to me. Exact process. I haven't called the number. I am going to disregard it. If there was some complaint against me, they'd know my adress, I've been there for 5 years. I will update, if I ever get court papers.
- MandyS replies to AnneB.| 3 repliesI too got the same calls mine was a Chase - Wa Mu card was mine and my ex husbands. But we did owe the debit. I found Ms. Robinson to be extremely professional and helpful. She never threatened me with court but was very clear on our options. I say she was just doing her job!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - Tamianth replies to Concerned (update)Not the same poster as the OP is either.. Epic fail of the shill here!

Arizona Bar lists none of the principals so they are not attorneys.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

- Resident47 replies to Concerned (update)A week prior you owed no debt and you weren't sending in a spouse to clean your messes. I would demand a settlement from these thugs myself, as in a check payable to my name for the FDCPA violations.
- FK replies to AnneB.| 1 replyHi there, I just had the exact same thing happen to me. A man named Cain Decker called me on 10/8/15 asking me to call the 2103 number back - I spoke with Louise Robinson who claimed I had a debt with Continental Finance credit card, which I do not. They called me again today to state I was uncooperative and they would go ahead with their complaint. Judging by all the posts on here I'm calling it a scam as well. I've reported them to the BBB and to the FTC. If they call again I'm going to the cops as well.
- beckie replies to FKAnne B. I have had the same calls from a kane decker, when i call back the 855-903-2103 i get a recording that all customer agents are busy or i am calling during unnormal business hours.. They ask me to refer to a file # . tonight they called again and said i was being put down as uncooperative and it would go to judgement... I'm also saying scam...
- beckieover the past week I have had numerous (sometimes 3x daily) calls from this number. 855-903-2103. A kane decker supposedly calling. he never says who is he calling from but lists a reference number and says they need to verify my address so some documents can be delivered ..Tonight I get the nasty message since you are not answering we will be listing you as uncooperative in this attempt to deliver documents and it will go to a judge and good luck... WOW.... I call back and get an automated answering system saying all agents are busy or something like that.. I will call during normal hours tomorrow and see what I get.
