- Morghan| 5 repliesCalled asking for my aunt and said her SSN was shown in a fraud and she may be charged and actions may be taken. He said he is Michael Spencer from Goldberg & Associates. Anyone else?
- Caller: Goldberg & Associates
- emily| 1 replycame up as "unknown caller". i don't answer those calls. listened to the voicemail and they were calling for a constance smith. (not me). they left this phone number with reference # and an extension saying if i dont call back, they will serve me and do wage garnishing. when i called it back to tell them it was a wrong #, it just said "this mailbox is full. please call back"
- Caller: ....FRAUD AGENCY
- shawn replies to Morghan| 4 repliesYes he contacted me by phone as well but he sent a process server to my home and job with local law enforcement.
There was some fraud charges pending towards my social. That pissed me off i was so embarrassed. But thank God it's something i can take care of. I just wish i would have responded to the call in stead of ignoring it. I would have to come in at work and everybody staring at me. I almost lost my job. But they sent a letter to my boss explaining it was a mere over sight on my part. This fraud matter was my fault. It was a theft by check charge against me. Something i merely forgot about due to some hardship i had then. I think you need to contact your Aunt before it get serious. It may be something serious. - josh replies to emilyI just got a call earlier from them as well about eleven this morning. i called back. i was indeed the person they were looking for. I am going to keep it real it was for something i did a year ago. They help me take care of it out side of court. While i was on line with them there system starting going crazy the phone kept making noise and everything. I was speaking with Russell Wilson. He told me if the call disconnected to call back in about four hours b/c the I.T guy just showed up. Said they just put in a new system and it's acting up. That maybe the reason you didn't get through. But hey the call wasn't for you that's something to be thankful for right there.
- Amanda| 5 repliesTotal fraud call - looking to scam you! DO NOT respond to these calls as it is on the FBI's top 5 new scams. DO not confirm any info, its a SCAM CALLER.
(and they monitor these websites to make themselves look legit)- Call type: Prank
- REBECCA replies to Amanda| 3 repliesWell first and foremost i have been contacted by 866-202-1096 for the last three days. Today they called my mom who called me with the same number. Told me i needed to call them asap. I'm like mom this is nothing but a scam. Well lets just say my mom is strictly by the book. My mom is one who takes everything seriously as well. I told her i didn't want to call that it was a scam. So my mom being mom called them on three way with me. Needless to say my mom never seems to be wrong about anything. To make a long story short i am glad she called because little did i know i had received several pieces of correspondence from them i just tossed them away just thinking it was a bill collector or someone trying to sale me something. They actually helped me take care of a matter that was a over site on my part.
- AGAVE replies to shawn| 1 replyYou're kidding, RIGHT?!?!? Are you working for these people? If this 'did' happen to you, the you should be able to sue (but I think you are just a shill for these people)!!
- AGAVE replies to AmandaBetter yet, just don't answer the phone when you don't recognize the number. This is a SCAM!!
- LynneThey called my work number and stated the same thing as above. Threatened me about some legal matter. It is a scam. I am getting repeated calls from so many numbers. It is a shame the FTC or whoever can not stop these people. I just delete the messages. I have not received anything in writing, so I know it is a scam.
- Caller: Not sure
- Val replies to AGAVEClearly he works for this company. I just received a message from these jerks. Do not give them any personal bank information ever. I do not owe anyone anything because everything was handled through my attorney 6 years ago. If they can not provide me with written documentation stating exactly who they are and the name of the creditor that I supposedly owe, it is a wrap for me. You people are going to have to step up your game if you want to effectively scam people.
- Gunnar replies to REBECCA| 1 reply"shawn", "josh" & "Rebecca" are nothing but low-life, lying SHILLS! They're probably all one in the same. Just a lowly Indian fraud sitting in a boiler room in some pestilent place like Ahmedabad. They're paid by the day in rupees. They don't "earn" in a month what the average westerner pays to fill up his car with gas. Literally!
The Indian "Fraud Scourge" has become a sad joke in the U.S. It's gotten to the point that legitimate Indians can't even engage in a phone conversation with a westerner. As soon as an Indian/Pakistani accent is perceived, the phone is slammed down. The Indian frauds have made their countrymen ashamed. They are an embarrassment to their people & have done immense damage to the reputation of their country. God only knows how much the frauds in India have cost their country in lost revenue. I see it at my company, I've heard of it at others. When a sales person or a company representative has an Indian accent he is immediately suspect. In some cases he is immediately considered to be unworthy of attention. It's very sad. The vast majority of Indians are fine people. I know many. Sadly, I don't feel particularly sorry for them. They have done this to themselves. The Indian government has been corrupt since its inception in 1949. Bribery & graft are the norm, not the exception. Now the immoral behavior that is common in their society has gone global. The internet & cheap VOIP phone services have seen to that. Not to mention the bottomless pit of dirt cheap labor available to them. It will come to an end though. Very soon the large & legitimate corporations based in India (such as Tata) are going to take notice of what the scum in their country are doing. All it's going to take is a large India concern feeling a twitch in their bottom line or a bad mark to their reputation. When that happens the frauds in places like the Gujarat province are going to be hiding like cockroaches when the lights are turned on. It will happen. Hopefully soon.
The cure to the Indian "Fraud Scourge" won't come from a government. Not theirs, not any other. It will come from the private sector. Which is good. Indian government officials can be bought. From the lowest to the highest. But when money is worshipped more than any god, the corporations will be the ones running the show. They have to function globally. The Indian frauds are nothing but an irritation that has yet to be scratched. When the real Indian power players notice how the world is reacting to the Indian frauds....well, I wouldn't want to be an Indian fraud.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Gunnar - Don replies to GunnarYou've pretty well hit the nail on the head Gunnar. Many people have reached the point of simply refusing to talk with any caller with any kind of accent.....particularly Indian or Pakistani. Unfortunately, too many are waiting targets for these vermin because the lack of education, of this dark underworld of sewer dwellers. If enough emphasis were put into educating all citizens of the Typical Indian scammers, by the government and news media, it would reduce their profits enough to make it unproductive to continue much longer. Thank you for your post.
- ann replies to shawn| 1 replyGuess you work for them...this is a scam it's not how it works....i suggest you try getting a real job instead of trying to scam people out of money...it's against the law and you are friends are being reported.
- ann replies to REBECCAso i guess part of your job description is to go on the internet to try to pretend what you do is legitimate...it's not and you know it...i have provided all of this information to the Attorney General's office and they are well aware of you and fingers crossed will be pressing charges.
- Tamianth replies to annIgnore the shill for the scam.
