Got a call from 866-365-8438  Automated message said Mary Jones from Accounts Receivable Management debt collector and to call back.

Female caller with british accent left message on answering machine saying if we were not the correct party, to disconnect immediately since it was illegal for us as a 3rd party to listen to the message.  Then said if we didn't disconnect within 3 seconds we would be involved in litigation for a bad debt collection against our son, who has not lived with us for over 20 years.  They did not give any information in message on answering machine as to company name, just the phone number to call.  Call was left on answering machine when we were not at home, making it impossible to disconnect within the 3 second time frame.  Call also sounded like a recorded message, not a live person.

I mean, update my cellphone account "to block" another spamming scammer phone number.

I got  a call from these debt collector types, but neither myself nor my significant other were the parties that they were looking for, so they promised to add our phone number to their DO NOT CALL list.

Called at 16:22.  No message.

These clowns have been calling for years asking for the same name. i've tried to explain to these losers that no matter how hard i try, i can't be the person they're looking for.   and besides, even if i was the person they're looking for, i could easily lie to them and they wouldn't know different. i even pretend sometimes to be that person, but when they ask me for xxxx's birthdate, i tell them i don't know.  they still can't figure out that they are playing a game they cannot win over a phone. (unless the person they call is stupid too)

dumb as dirt these clowns.  no wonder they, or the losers that hire them, make bad loans: they're STUPID Crony Capitalists.

hopefully, the government won't bail them out like they did wall street. let these dumb [***] who make bad loans lose their [***].  it's the Market working!!

This number repeatedly calls my work issued cell phone...which is a number I NEVER use personally.  So I called the number back to see who would answer.  Someone DID answer...a very stupid sounding woman...who said "HELLO? HELLO?"  and I just hung up.  Firstly, this number she calls has always been a work issued phone and is never used for personal reasons for me...secondly...what kind of real BUSINESS would have some girl answer who sounded totally stupid..."hello? hello?" without naming what company they are first.  Total scam if you ask me.  I'm going to try to answer it the next time she calls and play along with this game and then let them have it! :)

SCAMMER - Loser company that got suckered into buying bad debts - Now they are here to harass everyone else.  I hope those people that do owe money don't pay.  These phone terrorists have gone to far and deserve their own BS back.

Called asked for someone who doesn't live here and said to push 1 to connect to someone or push 2 to have a message left. Pushed 2 and still repeated the same message. Pushed 1 and still got the same message. No matter how many times I pushed either number, the message just constantly repeated itself. So [***] annoying!

Received a call today 2/28/25 asking for my son who does not, nor ever has lived at this number. Identified themselves as The Northland Group, and asked me to give them my son's number. I stupidly gave them his number before searching the number on Google. Don't know now what problems I may have caused for myself or my son. If this is a scam call, please report it to the proper authorities. The BBB identifies this company as ligit. I'm very confused if this is scam or not.

Just got this call from them, called back just to see what they had to say. She asked for my name and I gave first name only. She said she was not looking for me and I asked who are you looking for. She would not say so I told them to take the number out of the calling circle because they call every day several times a day. She said that someone gave my number for contact asked who else lived here I said no one over 18 so it does not really matter. She stated they would remove the number but will continue to call for like 30 days. I asked repeatedly for them to tell me who gave my number but she said she could not tell me.

Got call today. No message left. Call traces to Northland Group, Edina, Mn. They are scam debt collectors who try to trick people into paying debts they don't owe. Ignore the rotten crooks. They used to be ARM, Accounts Receivable Management that was taken over by Northland Group.

Well looks like Northland Group just called me from a spoofed number with the caller id as 800 service.  Answered and it went to a recording that said "Please continue to hold".  Yeah right, they called me and they don't have someone on the line to harass and threaten me so they want me to hold until the next criminal becomes available?  I doubt it.  Not in this lifetime.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
