Got a call from this number.  Left a message saying they were the Northland Group and were attempting to collect a debt.  I just recently got this new phone number and have no outstanding debt.  I never answer numbers I don't recognize.

SCAMMERS - still calling everyday.  Sounds like they are a debt collector.  F-them!!  Don't pay these low life scum.  They don't respect the individual.  DO NOT ANSWER - BLOCK CALLER IF YOU CAN.

SCAMMER - do not answer - block caller.

This company is a scam operating out of the islands and is not a legit company.  The phone number is a spoofed phone number that is generated from internet calling services, such as Oovoo and Skype, to name a few.  These programs allow you to "spoof" a number.  This number has constantly called our podcast radio number for months, which gets annoying when we are doing live interviews and shows.  The operator is the same few people running this scam and unfortunately, unless there is a way to track down an IP address, etc they will just keep changing numbers and calling again.  DO NOT give out any personal information.  If they are truly a "debt collection" agency, then they should already know the pertinent information regarding you or your account.  Just be aware that some of these scams are just now hitting the US from various regions such as India, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Guam, and other islands.

I have home phone service from my Internet Provider (VoIP), which I never use....literally never have even connected a phone to the phone jack. My provider has an app which lets me view the call log on my Cell. I have no idea how they got the number, but think its hilarious that they keep trying, and am VERY frustrated that somehow they got this number to call, considering there is no way they got the number from anyone but my service provider since no call has ever gone out from my number.

Same experience as others. Actually left a message as coming from "Northland Group". Told them to put in writing so my lawyer could review. Haven't heard from them for 8 weeks now.

Got call from this number for the first time on my private number used only by my close family, never gave it to anyone else So I am sure it is a robo call.  I don't answer any calls if I don't recognize the number and as a result I have almost quit getting phone calls like this.  I know a lot of people have to answer because of circumstances but it works if you quit answering their calls and never call back when they tell you to.

These (incredibly rude) people called up requesting a payment arrangement on debt I had settled amicably three months ago. They are called Northland Group or something like that. They demanded payment or they'd be forced to proceed to collect the debt by legal means (Very threatening). I simply asked them who the original debtor was and asked them to mail me the debt verification which they are legally obligated to do within five days of the first call to you. In order to send me the information I needed to make sure I actually owed the debt. (Which I was sure I didn't) they needed me to verify my social security number. I told the absolutely not. When I did this the gentleman got very upset with me and hung up the phone. I laughed it off and the haven't contacted me since. Well worth my five minutes.

As you did. Send me something in the mail & if you want to take it to court - sure. Tell them you plan to counter sue for damages, as the debt is paid. Should be fun.

Received a call from this number saying it was from the Northland Group, said it was monitored and it was  a debt collection firm.

This is the second time they've called telling me I owe money to "Aerocare of Jonesboro" (of which I've never heard). Asked me to verify my address and date of birth at the beginning of call, and, when I refused, they said "Thank you" and hung up. SCAM from day one!

Trying to collect money on something that I never purchased.
I got a price quote for a new C-Pap machine and my deductible would have been the amount that they've been trying to collect. The last time that I did business with the company I got some new equipment (mask, hose and filters) but wrote a check on the spot for them.
I discussed getting a new machine with the salesman at their office and he told me what the deductible would be. I didn't get it at the time yet they have been trying to get me to pay for the the machine that I never got.
Pro O2 was the name of the company which a few years ago went out of business here.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Well looks like the criminals at Northland Group are calling me now, no idea why because as true criminals, they won't leave a message.  Since this is the second call, the first being on July 6thy (that to me is first contact)  it seems their letter is a bit overdue.
