Is this from Skype itself, or people abusing the Skype service?

Whenever I see a call from a totally nonexistant area code, I either don't answer or I answer just long enough to cut the caller off so the phone stops rining. Skype better figure out how to always provide accurate caller ID or it's just a matter of time before the government gets involved. I can't believe the idiots running Skype connected to the normal phone service in this way!

Just got a garbled call from this number as most of you have.  I got one call, picked up and it sounded like the call was being made from a crowded room and I couldn't make out what the person was saying, so I hung up.  About 30 seconds later, they called back and I sent the call to voice mail.  I was able to make out that the caller said I got caught at something and that they were going to rip off my head and s--- down my throat.  Also something about my parents and other kids that I could not understand.  These were my first two calls and hopefully the last, otherwise I will be getting my cellular provider involved.

That number has called me now 4 times in the last hour and they refuse to speak. Can hear background noises like someone breathing so this does not sound like an auto-dialer call. They then hung up after about 30 seconds. What I did is used the Bell Canada *57 call trace feature (costs 5$ per call to a monthly maximum of 10$). This feature successfully traced the origin so I can now contact the police to file a formal complaint. I am so fed up with people calling, harassing and disrupting my private space by ringing up my phone at all hours with garbage like this.

Get a couple of calls a week from this number, but always on the distinctive ring line (different ring, but same physical line as my voice number) that my fax machine answers.  Just called a minute ago.  No Fax, No Massage.

Several calls, when I answer nothing at the other end.

got a call from them december 3 at 12:46pm EST and again december 4 at 6:07pm EST in Toronto, Ontario. There was no answer (I was prepared to tell them off) so I hung up.

I got a call from this number today I said hello and then heard hello but it could have been an echo of my voice and then the line is cut.

Call from "Unknown Name" at 2:30 pm Sunday Dec 9th from 000-012-3456 (a "Skype" generated random number?}.  Just silence, then "off line"(?) signal like a "quick busy" signal.  This was shortly after I was rude to a "commercial" caller earlier, so I was wondering if there is a website where someone can post a phone number (like mine) and have a "Skype" call generated to harass me like this.

This was first time I've had such a call and the first time I was rude to a "commercial" caller or "telemarketer".  Coincidence?????

Then, I did a websearch on "Marvin Fine" who was reported on this site's 416-665-1377 nuisance phone number pages as the owner of Toronto Voice Telecom and originator of the nuisance calls from 416-665-1377.

Surprisingly, I found that he says our own Canadian Government had paid for the research for his company to generate a "simultaneous" computer dialed marketing calling system.  He has previously been convicted of misleading advertising through the courts in Canada among other things dealing with marketing and advertising.  Check this through a "Google" search.

I have also received several calls from this number and they do not leave a message. I am so sick and tired of these calls. There must be some way in which someone can stop these calls.

Okay, seriously. Is there nothing we can do about this? File multiple complaints with Skype, perhaps?

I recieved this phone call this morning as well. I answered the phone but there was silence on the other end. I waited for about a minute, still silence, so I hit 0 key about 20 times and then hung up. They have not called back so far, and I'm hoping they will leave me alone.

From what I have read on here, this is obviously a huge nuisance, to say the least, and there has to be something we can do. I went on to www.skype.com under "contact us - Press Inquiries" and gave them a link to this website. Hopefully they will wake the f*ck up and do something about this stupidity.

Once a week I get a call from this #.  I answer and there is no one there.  It concerns me because my mother is traveling and using Skype to keep in touch and every time this # comes up I think it's her.
