This number has shown up on my Verizon bill as text message sent or received and we are being charged .10 a call but some of the calls took place late night (2 or 3 in the am) when all were asleep. What can we do about these charges that have racked up to about 450.00 dollar in a matter of two weeks?

We just had the same thing happen to us.  I got a $400 cell phone bill just from texting.  Did you have to pay it?

I just got the same thing on my daughter's phone for over $200.  With the holiday I could only email verizon today, but I will be in our local store tomorrow.  I am glad I found this site because now I believe it is a scam from verizon or someone else.  Using the info I have read on this site I am going to fight paying it.  I suggest everyone do the same.  My daughter does not even remember receiving messages from this number.

It might be that your daughter used a Mobile IM feature on her cell phone? I think that's what's happening to me this month. I've been monitoring my test usage, and that's the only explanation I can come up with.

Same thing. 12 messages from this number in one minute, none of which showed up on my phone. Most of them started by a txt mssg from my phone to that number. And I don't even use txt mssgs. Verizon doesn't know about this but they will refund the money.

After talking with some tech people at verizon, I found out it could be from an instant messaging program on the phone. If you open the program and close it, people can still sent messages. If you open the program back up some other time and view those messages sent previously, I can charge you for all of them. I was also told that this rarely happens on the new phones - usually the phones that are a few years old.

My sons phone was stolen on April 25th and this number and a few others showed up a total of 406 texts in one day. Verizon was great and didnt make us pay but we still are out the phone and replacement charges.  It sucks!
