Had a missed call from this number, no voice message was left. Tried to call the number I get different options from the IVR and can never get through. I once applied for a job at the municipality could it be for that?

Hi I received a call from this number yesterday telling me that a woman by the name of faith from Pretoria arcadia has pressed rape charges against me.

Received a call from this number - 012 358 9999 as well today  - 05 January 2016 at 10am, an African woman with an African but non-South African accent asked who she was speaking to and I in turn asked who she wanted to speak to, she then put down the phone.  Very strange.  There has to be a solid way of finding out who these mystery callers are if large numbers of people are getting the same calls.

Qwerty, have you noticed that the whole thread is filled with these "please call me back requests?"  What sort of scam do you think they're trying to run?

Several options:

1.  Supersecret spys using "safe" ways to communicate

2.  A bunch of immature trolls still locked in their chrysalises.

3.  Working girls looking for a john

4.  Johns looking for working girls.

5.  Somebody "testing" the system to see if Admin is awake.

Have fun inventing other reasons.

This number appears to be in South Africa.
Not much we can do to help them.
And these might all be teenagers who can't bear to miss a call.

I am strongly reminded of the two Harambe threads, in which would-be entrepreneurs have been whining about their "missed calls" and believe that 800Notes provides a message service. Hence nearly all were begging for return or retried calls and some were publishing personal data.

The City of Tshwane is a part of South Africa, a sort of rebranding of multiple towns toward the start of this century. Its central city was once called Pretoria, officially. The name change came slowly and with much resistance, and is still not reflected in all the world maps. I suspect the change was in part financially motivated. As a social movement it would fail.

While Tshwane has business and job creation programs, I'm not seeing one leap out for me which relates to this thread. Indeed, this thread is silent as to why its contributors are so worried and lobbing excuses for not answering. The user behavior is much like in the Harambe Youth thread, which features dubiously repeated excuses for failure to respond to calls. No one seems at all concerned about the chance of Caller ID spoofing or other fraud signs.
