I got a call from this number as well.  It is to some place on Yokota Air base in Japan.  I tried to call it back but just got a busy signal.  The guy who called me from this number was a potential buyer for my Honda Stepwagon.  I tried his cell but I keep getting his voicemail after it rings a few times.

I got a call from this number as well, did not get a voicemail. If it's important they will leave a message , I have auction memberships so it must be car related.

Ok here is the jist behind that number. Anytime someone calls to a offbase number it's routed through the number that brought you to this blog.
It's not a bogus number you just hope the person calling leaves their number.

Since you’re the most recent here

Is this a number that doesn’t receive calls?
If so do you know any ways to contact them?

Why would they be calling a person in the US for an appointment in Japan! Been retired for almost 8 years in Texas! Never been there and don't don't know anyone in Japan! From what I'm reading this might be a minutes scam meaning that the moment you call back you may be hit with a long distance fee in an excessive amount for just calling back! It use ro be a big thing when cell phones first came out and now they can use VPN number's or a service like Skype to call you anywhere in the world and show a local number! When you call back they can redirect your call to a company where they can legally charge you for placing a long distance call! I don't think any US cell service gives you free long distance calling to Japan! The sad part was the caller sounded American and sounded legit on my voice-mail! Becareful people! People are getting desperate!

Never ever misdialed a number before?  No area code in the North American Numbering Plan begins with a "0" or a "1" and if you read the other reports, it was mostly calls to people in Japan or Stationed in Japan.
