- BigA replies to JoeThey did not "get" your number.
- MikeHuntleton replies to JoeThey simply input a 10 digit number and it just happened to be your number. You can call any 10 digit number and not know who you are calling. Scammers don't care who you are, just that you might be gullible enough to do what they want and steal your money or phish your info to commit fraud.
- Joe| 1 replyWhat is interesting is this all started this week. Each day i get a text from a new number starting with 141010001, then 141010002, followed by 14101003, etc. and now it's up to 14101011 . im basically trying to figure out how to stop them because blocking does nothing when it's a text from a new digit next time.

Forward unwanted spam/scam texts to 7726(SPAM) and let your phone service provider deal with them.
That number was set up by the phone companies to combat spam texts and they can shutdown offending phone numbers.
Never reply with "STOP" , scammers will not honor the request (they have no honor to begin with) and it only verifies that they have texted to a valid number and a person who reads their texts. It will not STOP the texts and may actually make them more frequent.
Never click on a link in such a text as it may cause malware to be inserted on your phone, and even if it does not, just as with replying "STOP" the scammers will know they reached a valid number.
Knew it was a scam attempt as soon as I saw the "phone number" it came from; No phone number in the US or Canada can have an area code or an exchange number that starts with a 0 or a 1. This number violates both of those rules.- Call type: Scam suspicion
