IRS Tax SCAM Number

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for it. The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone.

As general background information, here are a few things you can do:
1) Report it to TIGTA under http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml especially if you have become a victim (lost money, gave personal information etc.). You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint (include “IRS Telephone Scam" in your complaint). This way you can also help the government establish specific fraud patterns.

2) Help kill their phone lines. The scammers use Voice over IP lines (e.g. magicJack (Ymax corporation)) to make it seem as if they are calling from the US. This is always against these companys' terms of service and can lead to immediate termination of their contract and blocking of their IP addresses for future attempts to register. Do a reverse look up of their telephone number (e.g. www.whitepages.com) to identify the Voice over IP provider and report it to the company and or law enforcement (local police and/or state attorney general)

3) If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction and provide US law enforcement agencies with the political backing and the resources they need to work in India and Pakistan together with local authorities (it can happen, read: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/ex-call-cen ... mmission-320427). Received a phone call from this number. Indian/Pakistani accent of the caller. He was telling me something about fraud that I have committed. That seemed too suspicious and I told him that doesn't make any sense. So he threatened me saying he would send and officer to my house and hung up on me. Right after I've looked up the phone number online and found this page about scam. So I called him back to tell that I am going to report them as stammers. He would hung up on me 3 times and started cursing. So I filed the report to IRS

Scam with IRS, not legit. Says legal procedures if don't return their call.

I received a call on my work phone, which no one should have yet since it's new to me.  Didn't answer because I don't answer numbers I don't know or are from different areas.  I do not work with other areas outside of my own.  Typed in the number in Goggle and got this website.  I have blocked this number from my phone and am now reporting.

Same people that tried to call last week & two weeks ago. A potential fraud from DC. Left me a voicemail to call back. Am going to My Verizon & block this number too then will call the FTC.

kept calling re IRS lawsuit?

About 3 weeks ago I got a call saying that I owed $3,000 in back taxes so then I started crying so then he said well I only had to pay $2,000 then I said I where am I going to get the money so then he said I don't have to pay it so today I get a call saying I'm going to be getting a call from the IRS because I owe taxes and I have a no-bail warrant out on me

Harassing , take me off your list, you don't identify yourself, leaves harassing messages, I hope your number gets disconnected

You do realise this is a phone number look-up site and your caller is not affiliated with it so will never see your post, right?

caller said a warrant would be issued for my arrest, I said don't call this number any more and caller hung up.

Me llamaron de este y otros tres números diferentes con el mismo cuento del Its primero orden en mi contra luego proceso legal ahora aparece un número del Cairo en todas las llamadas los e bloqueado pero siguen apareciendo nuevos números y siguen llamando creo son los mismos estafadores.

got a call today. told them they are full of crap. was hung up on. pissed me off so as of now, i have called them 13 times to give them a piece of their own medicine.  as i said 13 times calling them, not done yet
