United States Department of the Treasury - fran replies to Miami Beach Guyi got the same call when i called back got a recording that the magic jack number was not assigned. this is a SCAM
- Got the same calls replies to bbmom| 1 replyOnly the number was 281-936-9256 claiming to be Jeff Martin, an IRS senior officer of crime investigations and I was a suspect under investigation of 4 felony allegations. Scary because he had my first and last name with address to refer to. Sounds like a terrorist with his strong accent. To whom should I report this to and how? There's got to be a more direct procedure instead of emailing or filling out a form, I'm kinda scared and want a more serious action to be took against this guy.
- callfromjeffmatrin replies to Got the same callsFirst I got call from 911 and he said he is from police department and then he told me he has arrest warrant against me. I was shocked. Later he mentioned someone would call me from 1-800- number to explain more. Right after sometime, I got a call from 1-800 number and he mentioned him as Jeff Martin. He mentioned I made a mistake in my tax return and I am charged with panel code. He asked me if I want to settle out of court then it would 2912. He also asked me to write down federal id number but I did not have pen and paper with me so I requested to give me a time to get it. However, I realized that this might be scam so I disconnected line and called Police. Police said this is scam. No worries.
