Wow If Anyone Out There Falls For This One, Then There Is No Hope For You LoL. All The Red Flags Are There: Heavy Accents, Lots Of Mumbling/Stumbling When You Ask A Question, Lots Of Shuffling Sounds On The Phone, Stereotypical American Names ('Mark Watson', 'Richard Webber').....They Are A Throwback To The Old School Phone Scams. We Called & Spoke With "Mark Watson" & "Richard Webber" Of The "Criminal Investigation Division" Of The "Federal Agency Subdivision Of The Treasury Department". We Never Got To The Actual Reason For Their Initial Call, Because I Kept Asking Questions & They Just Kept Changing Their Titles (Investigator, Police Officer, Inspector) & Rambling On About Divisions & Subdivisions Of The Government. At Least They Know Enough To Use A Phony Number With A DC Area Code. But Since I Am Originally From DC & Have Relatives Who Work For The Federal Government, They Are No Match For My Line Of Questioning LMAO. We Have Called Several Times -- They Either Hang Up On Me Quite Quickly Or Just Sit On The Other End Of The Phone In Silence. But Like I Said, If You Can't Sniff Out this Scam As Soon As You Answer The Phone, Then I Feel Bad For You Son.

My question is, are the people so stupid? Or, i should say, are any American so stupid as to fall for this? They called me and said with a grave, otherworldy voice, that i will be arrested for tax fraud and before my local police receive directives to detain me i should call this number to get "additional details".

Was called by this number by a man claiming to be a Richard Webber from the IRS. Said I had a warrant out for tax fraud. When I asked for specific information he had no answers, & said I was just trying to get out of trouble. He said a police officer would be at my house within the hr to arrest me. When I called the number back,  he gave the same name but his title had changed to police officer. He has been reported on many websites including the IRS, for scamming. I luckily did not give him any personal information.

Same type of call as others had reported -- being accused of Tax fraud.   How do I get it to stop as it's my work number and I have to answer it?  I've already filed complaints.  Thank you.
