202-607-2540

This number is a cellphone, but it began identically to pitches that I have been receiving daily from Lucre.  They are a marketing company that says they are calling about a credit card and they have the last four digits of a card.  They then try to sell something, but I always hang up after informing them that my number is on the do not call registry and telling them no to call again.

Called on a Sunday afternoon I just sent it to voice mail. Maybe next time I will answer and yank their chain a little.

I just got a call from the same ph no. Friday I got a call from 517 933 2007..
I called them both back. No one answered either time.  Both no.'s have the same message. I answered the 202 area code no. and kept saying 'hello' but no one answered. I only answered it because I was curious as to who it was.. I'm going to make a note of both no's. I believe they are from the same company, or person.

They have been calling me also.

Both this number (202-607-2540) and the other one that some people are talking about (517-933-2007) have been calling me as well.  When I told the 517 caller that I thought they were scamming me they hung up.  How do I get my phone off of whatever list this is?

This number called me asl well about my VISA.  When I told HER ( woman with accent) that I didn't have a visa, she then stated it was for my debit card.  

I have been calling this number all ( Sunday morning) and just running out the voice mail leaving it run unitl it hangs up.  I call right back.  

She had my full name.  I have filed a police report.

They called me Sunday AM.  Mothers Day no less.  Running the voice mail to full is a great idea, atleast it will piss her off.

Had the same problem as Cheryl, they kept insisting that I had a visa card, and they even went as far as asking if there was a visa logo on my debit card. It was like an arguement. Had a India accent. She didn't have my full name though. It's my 4th call...getting frustrated

I also received a call from the 202 number. Listened to the offer ($125 WalMart Gift Card, $100 Gas Card, $25 Visa Gift Card). She kept reassuring me that all this was going to be only a $1 one time fee. At the end, just before they go off the line (caller also had East Indian accent), you listen to a recording (garbled) where they give you a toll free number & verification code, (which they only say once, then hang up) that you agree to the terms of Identity Theft protection ($49.45/month)& a Home Warranty policy ($29.95/month) that will be billed to your card they call about. She also side-stepped me when I asked if this was through my Bank, kept insisting it was for the card with the M/C logo on it. I'm also on the Do Not Call List.

Ok from what I have read so far and what aI have gone thru these numbers are telemarketers or some equally nasty bunch: 202/607/2540  231/224/2074  231/732/2947  Any one else have other numbers? It will probably be best to gather all these numbers and have them reported to the Better Business Bureau or some law enforcement agency.

Ive been having missed calls from this number and also from 410-629-7045 and they're both marketing companies. I read up about other people's comments and one comment stood out. The person said that if you've recently purchased something from the informercials either through the internet or phone, then that marketing company most likely purchased your info, credit/debit card's last 4 digits, etc. from them. so they're basically selling your personal information. Thats why everyone is getting these calls! I called back and left a message not to call my number again but this 410 number keeps calling over and over again! ive even went to a point where im about to change my phone number!they're worst than debt collectors!!!!

What bothers me is the one time i picked up, the caller asked for me and i said "this is she, who is this?" she hung up! whats the point of all the call anyways if you're goin to call and hang right up and then keep calling every damn day?!?!?!?!

I also had call from 202-607-2540- I answered they hung up with out saying a word.  Caller ID said District of Columbia.  I have heard a scam is out there to hang up on you so you can call them back out of anger- Then your phone bill shows up with $1000's charged to it.

202-607-2540 called and had my first name. It was a male with a middle eastern accent wanting to give me a Walmart reward for using my M/C. I asked him which one, and he said 'Any card with a M/C logo'. I insisted he tell me which one, and he responded with the last 4 digits of my card number. It is my banking card. The cell phone he called me on is a brand new cell phone, the bank does not have that number at all. I asked him how he had my cell phone number since I haven't given it to anyone, and he said Thank you and hung up! Obviously a scam- yikes!!

202-607-2540 called and had my first name also. They left a message. A woman on the line said "It's Rick", then some garbled jibberish, then a child said something inaudibleand hung up. Great. Are they using children now?

My cellphone rings once and then it hangs up.  The number that's listed is 202-607-2540.  When I call the number back it tells me that the person that i'm trying to reach is unavailable and to leave a msg.

i have been getting calls from this number for days at all hours of the day and night! when i answer the phone, no one is there. when i dial the number, it is a voice mail that tells me the party is unavailable. and the phone is a sprint phone! apparrantly it is some "marketing company". i want there idiots reported!

I received a call from this number at 8:33a on 7/9/2009. They did not leave a message. I also read that people receive calls from 517-933-2007. I have received several calls from this number, one day I received 3 calls in a day! I never pick up and they don't leave a message. I put my number on a do not call list and plan on reporting them if they continue to call after my 31 days being registered.

During the past week, I have suddenly started receiving multiple phone calls daily from this number, as well as 517-933-2007 and 231-732-2642.  I have not answered any of the calls but when I research all 3 of them, similar comments like the ones above keep coming up - something about a scam with winning a gift card.   One thread I read had a lot of comments about purchasing a Snugglie.   I have not purchased one of those but I did recently purchase something off an infomercial.  I shop online all the time and have never had a problem.  However, this is the first time I've purchased something off an infomercial.  I haven't received my item yet but all of a sudden I am bombarded with these calls.  I did add my new cell number to the Do Not Call registry but it takes 31 days to be effective.  We'll see....  In the meantime, I recommend not answering any calls from one of these numbers.  If it was truly important or legit, they would leave a message.
