Caller asks for my son who does not even live with us.  He has an unlisted number.  I don't know how they got this number.  The lady is a foreigner and wants to talk to my son about a personal matter.

Foreign person called but did not understand who they were asking for.  Just said wrong number and hung up.

Who is this. they keep calling and dont leave a message..

These people have been calling for weeks.  Finally, I had my husband, who has a very deep, scary voice talk to them.  It started out as a woman, but apparently she got scared and handed it off to a man.  They said I owed $701.00 to Cellular One, who doesn't even offer service in our area.(where we've lived 20+ years). My husband had to press to even get that much out of them.  Then he asked them to send us a paper bill.  That's when they went to stuttering and stammering, they didn't have the proper address or even town.  I think this has to be some kind of scam.

Though these calls originate from Washington, DC, the headquarters for Bureau of Collection Recovery, Inc. (BCR) is in Minnesota.

A bit of advice. First of all, stop communicating with them on the phone.  Instead, only communicate with them in writing.

Second, mail them a letter informing them that per the provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are to cease all attempts to communicate with you. You should also warn them that if they disregard this notice and continue communicating with you then you'll pursue every applicable legal sanction against them.  Here is their headquarters address:

Just be sure to mail the letter via *certified* US Mail with a return receipt request, and save a copy of your letter.  If they contact you more than once after receiving your cease communication letter, then they are breaking the law and subject to fines for each incident.

constant calls asking for my son who no longer lives here and has been advised of such and they refused to talk to me about the problem.

Repeated calls, no message. Do not know who they are trying to contact.

They called 5 times last night.  Kept asking for my husband.  I finally asked who they were and they said that they were from the NRA - National Rifle Association and wanted to talk to my husband about his vote in the upcoming election.  My husband belongs to the NRA so it made sense, but he got home too late and they quit calling........

I HAVE GOT 6 CALLS THIS MONTH FEB. THEY ASK FOR A PERSON THAT I DID NOT KNOW WHO THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL BACK .SHE HAS A FOREIN ACCENT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. B..COLLINS

I get 5 or 6 calls per day including weekends at all hours of the night from this number.  Sometimes I answer and tell them they have the wrong number.  It makes no difference, they keep calling.  I filed a complaint with the FTC today.

they wont stop calling, its kind of scarying and harrassing. i think it has to do something with the government, its a scam into getting money out of us or some kind of information about ourself. be care what you say. dont even pick up calls you dont reconize

Keep getting calls from this number 202-607-2756, no message left. Called it back, says its the BCR. Not sure if its legit or not. I always get suspicious if they don't leave a message.

constant calls by a recording, I have several numbers and not only don't know which they are calling, but refuse to give them a list of all of my possible personal and business phone numbers to find which they are erroneously calling.

This is a direct violation of the law, as they don't provide me with adequate information to be removed from their records.  I'm considering going 'round the corner to the FBI offices and framing this as a computer crime.

They asked for me(by name) or my wife I said it was me and they hung up....

They keep calling and will not leave a message.  I am going to answer next time.  Screw the people trying to screw me.  I have no money, leave me alone!

I just got my phone number just yesterday and at 12:02 pm there was a phone call that came through but no message was left.  The business was BCR.  Not sure if we are all with the same phone company or not, but I'm sure the company is definitely a scam.

just got my new cell phone number and only 2 friends have it so far..not less than 24 hours of having this number I already recieved a call from this number and 202-607-2749...these are scammers do not answer!!!! just report them

i received calls from this number for well over a week and today was the first time i was the first time i actually spoke to someone.  every other time someone called from this number, no one was on the other end.

the person speaking said their name was briska (sp?) and that she was calling in regards to a personal business matter for someone not even tied to my phone.  she claims to be with bcr, which i received half-a-dozen harassing calls from from a different number (915-440-0036) for close to a week asking for someone not tied to my phone.

both people refused to give any details and only said that they were with bcr even though the two numbers they are calling from are in two completely different states.
