I received a call from this number and the woman who answered was very adamant about giving me info on the nature of her calling me .when I asked what company she was calling from a 2nd time she replied IC SYSTEM, and didnt waste time telling me they were looking for a certain person,I was given first and last name and asked if I was that person,I proceeded asking again what business were they in and she s replied something about relationships and communication with those clients,but I knew the routine,which was indicative of a collection agency especially by the way they kept repeating the same information back when I insisted on knowing the validity of the call,they asked for my number so they can remove it from their calling list ,so they dont call you again,but the woman was very cunning especially when I kept repeating the same question about how,why and what referring to my number.I swear that this is a tactic that collections agencies are ploying,they are very deceptive to the person they are calling.I sent them to the reject list that my phone app has.I will make a report to the FCC.

Why don't they leave a message?  The calls start at 9 a.m., on Sunday!
I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.

Called at 8:48PM EST on 4-3-16.  Caller ID said "TEA PARTY."  No message was left.

CID says Tea Party. Scum sucking maggots. Added to call blocker - didn't answer.

This woman is unrelenting.She had the nerve to say "Wow, you're really hard to get in touch with. She said she wanted money for children with cancer ,despicable sociopath. I said this # of hers doesn't correlate with the charity. She had some B.S. answer for that. I said, well if you're legit ,you won't mind MAILING me the charity donation brochure and envelope, like we get at church. She hung up. After awhile she called and asked for our daughter using the same ruse...probably makes a living off her victims

Caller ID says "AICR".  They leave no message.

I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number).  Their outgoing message identifies them as the "Tea Party Majority".  They provide a web site address, www.TeaPartyMajority.org, for additional info.  There is an option to be placed on their Do-Not-Call list (I never do this as it can actually make things worse).

I actually visit their site.  It is pretty brief and the tone just doesn't seem to match what I would expect from people who are truly dedicated to the goals of the Tea Party.  I get the impression that the site is just window dressing and is there to add a faux legitimacy to a group that has no political goals and just wants your money.

If they are legit, I would expect a caller ID that reflects who they are.  "AICR" stands for American Institute for Cancer Research.  According to their website, www.aicr.org, they DO solicit donations by phone.  This number has been used for such purposes within the last month.  Others report debt collection via this number.  Seeing this same number used for a few "give me money" purposes does not inspire confidence.

FYI, according to Politico, only about 1% of their donations actually do anything for the Tea Party.  If you wish to support the TP, I suggest finding another organization.
