The number listed above call me And told me they were from the United States Government and I was randomly selected to receive a large sum of money. They asked me to purchase and activate a specific prepaid card for the sum of $200. They also said that after the purchase I would receive a nother large some of money and be reimbursed for the money I already spent.

Scam! The government doesn't randomly select people to give money to and even if they did (they don't!) you wouldn't have to pay to receive it.
And if a caller claims you're being given a grant, the same thing apples with the caveat you have to apply for a grant. But even then, you still don't have to pay to receive it.

    Government Grant Scam

I received a call from "U.S. Treasury Dept" saying I was eligible for $9000. grant, but to receive the money would have to pay a "one time lifetime security deposit of $250".

You can't be awarded a Grant if you did not apply for it. Its free to apply and free to receive one if awarded.

    What is a grant scam?
The allure of so-called "free money" from the federal government has enabled scam artists to prey on people's hopes by promising access to grants – often for a fee. In reality, federal grants are rarely awarded to individuals seeking personal benefits, and applying for a grant is completely free.

Quick Facts about the Government Grant Process
    • Government grant applications and information about them are free.
    • The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet.
    • The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is www.grants.gov.
    • There are no fees associated with applying for a government grant.
    • ALL government grants involve an application process to carry out projects with a public purpose and are not intended for personal use.
    • You will not be contacted by the government to make you pay for a grant.

So sad that they don't teach people how to read anymore.  It is no wonder no one learns anything.

Received call from woman claiming to be from US government and that I had been randomly selected to receive $5000 grant . She asked my age, if employed how did I want to receive the money by Western Union, Walgreens, Walmart?  She said as soon as I got off the line with her to call the number 202-618-9050 with grant #SN577 so they could verify that it was me and  she then asked for my zip code. Then she reminded me to call that number.  I called number and got a recording stating that number was busy and leave my cell number they would call me back.
    Never received a  call

That's because she is a CROOK & has nothing to do with the government.  You need to apply for a grant.  This crook will want you to pay her first - ILLEGAL!

I read this before I called the 202 number. I told them I wasn't paying for a prepaid card and they hang up. I called them back and the guy answer and admitted he was a scam artist. We exchanged insults and he hung up again.

Was called by a woman said she was from the UNITED STATES TREASURER OFFICE and I was awarded  $9,000. Grant and all I had to do was call this number 202-618-9050 and confirm my information.   Well I didn't call. Because a few years ago I got a similar call the amount was for$10,000. Called department of treasurey and confirmed that the US government doesn't give Grant's away randomly or without an application. Anyone who gets the call beware it's a scam!
