Scam call purporting to be the IRS, who is preparing a lawsuit.

Yes!  Same scam, supposedly the IRS preparing a lawsuit!  But if you look at your caller ID- the call actually came from a cell phone from LA, with a number: 1-225-406-3486  Don't fall for it.

yes today I rec'd 2 phone calls saying the IRS is suing me for inproper tax forms from 2008 - 2013. this person had heavy accent and could not hardly be understood. I new right away this was a scam and I'am sure they will call back again. I will contact the IRS over this.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Caller claimed that they are with the IRS. Claiming that there is an on going investigation regarding income tax claims. I gave out no info... The caller ID' said private number. But they left a phone number on my answering machine. So I'm glad I researched the number.

IRS called to tell me they are filing law suit against me.  Robo call with female voice called from 225-406-3486 and required that I call 202-738-1071.  Sounded like a scam to me, so I did not call the number.

Message left for me said this was the final attempt to contact me in reference to the IRS preparing a case to sue me.  I looked up the number online that they left for me to call 202-738-1071 and found this page. So glad I did!

A robo-call claiming to bethe IRS - said they are taking action against me. I work for the Feds and this is NOT SOP, is a scam to get your personal information - DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Called to say I was being sued. I knew it was a scam ,because the IRS does not call you. Also the person had an accent. What a bunch of idots.

Received voicemail message from woman -- American speaking voice -- saying the IRS is suing me.  Knew it was a scam.  She actually left message w/# 202-738-1071 to call back.  I didn't.

IRS never calls taxpayers by phone in any such matter.  They communicate by letter via the U.S. mail.

This scam in its various forms must make a lot of money; I know 3 people who have received threatening calls from fake IRS people.  Some callers have some pretty sophisticated set-ups. DON'T FALL FOR THIS.

Got an automated call from this number saying it was the IRS and they were filing a lawsuit against me and to call.  Since I pay my taxes and know this isn't the way the IRS operates, I knew it was a scam.
