I received multiple (10plus) calls from a blocked number. When I answered I was told I was awarded a $7500 grant and that I needed to call 202-738-4394 to get the grant money. New scam probably

I called number and got a vm...

I just got the call too, but the number that told me to call the 202 area code number showed up on my id as 377-777-3737. I was promised 7,500$ from the government for grant money. I chose the option of getting cash cause I've been Scammed before. Never give out any info about your bank accounts or cash a check or money order sent to you VIA us mail or VIA Fedex. If I receive 7,500$ in cash though I'm keeping it! Lol

The government does not contact people to offer them money. If you do qualify for a government grant, the government does not request payment for it.

THERE ARE NO FEES ASSOCIATED WITH APPLYING FOR A GOVERNMENT GRANT.
Providing financial information to prove that you qualify for a government grant is typical, but you should never pay money to apply for a grant. People who run scams often claim to provide help and sometimes claim to be "federal government" officials, don't be fooled by these scams that request money from you.

If you have not submitted an application for a government grant and someone claims you have been awarded one, it's a scam. Grant money is not given over the phone for a fee. In order to qualify for a grant you must apply for the specific opportunity that you are qualified to apply for.

Yes they offered me 7,800 but i need to send them 300.

I got the same call from an unknown number. Called me at least 6 times so I finally decided to answer once I was out if work. Told me I would receive $7500 from the government if I called this number and gave a code.

got a call from a private number. Was told I won something. Was told to call this number. 202 738 4394.

Got a call and they just scared me out of 300!!!!!!! I had just put in for the grant at mothers going back to school..............feeling bad cause that was all that I had..........a lost for words....but never again...I was I just wanted to go back to school.......I have learned a BIG LESSON!!!!!!!!! LORD PLEASE HELP ME#!!!!

I just got one of those calls.  They told me they needed $300 as a security deposit in order to money gram $7500 to me plus refunding the security deposit.  Money gram and Western Union only allow a maximum of $3000 to be processed at any time.  when I told the "supervisor" this and told her I was looking them up online she hung up on me immediately.  I think this is definitely a scam.
