It's a scam. You have to apply for a grant, they aren't just given away at random. And if you qualify for one, you don't have to pay to receive it. Block and ignore such calls.

Was told the same thing, was picked to receive a $10k fed Grant from a bank in New York..... Even gave me a confirmation #. Is this really a scam? This is BS..... Caller had a bad accent, so hearing what & who & where she was calling from was lost.... She also told me to call this # 202-455-6190 to be able to receive my $10k, transferred to my account within 25-30 mins. What the hey?! Seriously.... I'm about to be freakin homeless & carless....

Scam will call every other month stating that they have an approved grant you, also got the gentleman to admit on the phone that he is calling from his home in another country and doesn't know anything about how to get a us grant, but he's on the phone trying to sell me a "Free Grant" Haha ha ha

asked me about personal information (address, name, age, job) and then gave me a transaction department number to call and an access code to give then told me I had to go to my nearest Walmart to receive it.
