as these  numbers  are  faked  etc.........contacting  the   "  do  not  call"    registry  is   completely  useless.......

I just got the same call.  Scam.  I looked up the number and it is a land line in Washington DC.  "Do not call" registry is a joke as far as I'm concerned.

Got the call:  "Hello, we've been trying to reach you.  This call is final notice from IRS - Internal Revenue Service.  IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  Please call our office at 202-864-1665."  I'm not wasting a long distance to reply to a scam.

Female robo message:   "Been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service is the reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 2028641665. I repeat 2028641665. Thank you."

I did NOT call back.  What is their scam?  Looks like they say you owe back taxes and what.......expect you to give them your CC number to pay it off?    Someone above said they ALMOST gave 200 bucks, but others report being asked for thousands.  These hacks need to be shut down.

Haha, I just got the same call.  Like you said, they don't leave a case number and when u call back no one answers.

I missed this call and it originated from 264-306-5230 which is in Anguilla.  I have reported it as a complaint to the Do Not Call Registry.  Thanks to all for the information that this is a scam.

This is so obviously a scam hearing the voice mail:  "Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS. Internal Revenue Services.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 202-864-1665. I repeat 202-864-1665. Thank you."

Called stating irs is filing lawsuit against me.  I need to call 202-864-1665 asap.
