I did get a call from this number yesterday claiming to be the IRS. I beleive it is a scam as I know IRS if they need to get in touch with you they will send you an official letter in the mail with an explaination of the reason they are contacting you.

If you receive a phone call, fax or letter in the mail from an individual claiming to be from the IRS but you suspect they are not an IRS employee, contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to determine if the IRS has a legitimate need to contact you. Report any bogus correspondence.

I got same call today. But i knew it was Fake IRS. I got call from 202-888-0163. So plz don't get involve in that Scammed.

The guy calling from this number is a fraud. He is targeting innocent people to get money. He tells you he is an IRS Criminal Investigator and you defrauded the US government with tax, wire fraud, money laundering, etc. He uses the IRS 1-800-829-1040 number and then asks you to call  202-888-0163. Don't be fooled by this fraud.

He is a big Fraud. He uses the IRS number as his caller ID initially and asks you to call back on 202-888-0163. Reads out something from a affadivit that the IRS has filed against you. I wonder if there is a way to shut him down. He says his name is Jonathan Lee and he has a native African accent (like a Nigerian or something). Currently you cannot even report him as the IRS and FTC offices are closed on account of the Federal Government shut down.

Anyone speaking to him should say that they have hired a criminal lawyer and he shuts the call right away.

Do not fall for this.i received a vm from Jonathan lee asking me to call him @293-888-90163.i called him back and he read am affidavit to me stating all the charges against me by IRS.i told him that my attorney will get in touch with him.my attorney spoke to this crook and called me back and told me that this guy is a crook and its a scam.i called him back and gave him a piece of my mind.

You need to contact the real irs on this and file a complaint with them also!

After I told them that my lawyer will be in touch with him, he has been calling every day. Today I got this call 4 times in the morning, once from253 236-2595 as well. I just called my local police who came to my home and took a complaint. I will dodge a complaint with IRS as well.
