202-888-4243

They called my unlisted landline number at 2:08 PM PST on 6 December 2017. The caller ID said "Out of Area". I did not answer. They left a partial message, which was a very mechanical "computer" sounding male voice. My phone numbers are on the Do Not Call list. I will report them to DoNotCall.gov.

THIS IS A SCAM!! DO NOT RESPOND!!  (Of course, if you are here on this website, then you are too smart to be fooled by this scam.

Never call them back, not even from a blocked phone. They have ways to unmask your phone number even when it is blocked.

Here is the message they left on my system:

"... and is extremely time sensitive and urgent, because after all, we found that there was a fraud and misconduct on your tax which you are hiding from the federal government. This needs to be rectified immediately so if you return the call immediately after the message. The number is 202-888-4243, I repeat again, 202-888-4243"

You're exactly right. Just received a fake call today. Major SCAM ALERT!!

Call received at business landline 12/7/2017 at approx 10.10am est. Caller ID Name read "Washington DC" with exact same recorded message as above.  message stated to call number (202-888-4243) immediately as there is tax fraud and is being hid from federal government. Did not return call to number as requested as suspected as scam.

I got this same message too!

I got the same call.  The Guy was stating that he was from the IRS and there was a warrent for my arrest from 2013 for my taxes. I was stupid enough to believe him. I sadly got duped. It makes me angry that people would do this
