This is a ridiculous IRS scam.  These guys are so inept, but hard to trace.  Their number spoofers say Washington D.C., but they sound like they're operating out of a call center in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or elsewhere.  I spoke with a "David Smith" and his supervisor that would not name himself and shut these fools down.

Scammers claiming to be from the federal government either the IRS which has nothing to do with the federal government they're the world's largest private debt collector were they claim to be from the US Federal Government Department of Grants, that doesn't exist. Because any Federal grant comes out of the Department of the treasury and the federal government will never call you to try to contact you they only contact you in writing sent through the mail with certified postage. All they're doing is trying to collect personal and private information to steal your identity or trying to get access to your bank account to scam you don't answer this phone call they call me several times a day and I told them repeatedly to stop calling me and they don't stop they keep harassing me everyday

You mean they haven't tried telling you they're from the US federal government Department of Grants lol. A lady called me from that number once and I told her that she's lying she's not from the federal government because the federal government will never contact you by phone they will only contact you in writing notifying you to contact them and they send it through the mail with certified postage and everything she tried to say I let her know how [***] she is for thinking I would believe her I finally said to her quit lying what the hell do you want and why the hell are you calling me and she says money I want money if you want us to stop calling you you need to send this moneyI. I started laughing at her and told he  to F~€£ off and go to hell and hung up the phone.

These guys called and left a message.  Typical fake IRS scam about I owe taxes, about to be arrested, can make it all go away if I pay now, blah blah blah.

Unfortunately for them, they happened to call when my cable company scheduled a cable/internet outage for the entire town.  I don't get good cell service at my house, so needless to say I was bored.  I figured I'd call back and see what their spiel was.  Within a minute or two of me not confirming or denying anything (I never say "yes" or anything affirmative until I know exactly who I'm dealing with) I had the guy screaming and cursing at me that I was going to jail and he'd be there to see the cuffs slapped on me.  I told him I didn't want to go to jail and asked how I could make it right.  He said it was too late for that and that there was a "court case at the local courthouse."  I explained I just moved to a new town and I wasn't sure where the local courthouse was but if he could give me directions I'd go right over to get served.  He screamed that there was no serving anybody, just a cop coming to arrest me.  At this point I couldn't stop laughing, he cursed at me again, and hung up.

Thankfully the cable company got my internet/cable working again so I didn't have to entertain myself my calling some poor, innocent, Middle Eastern telephone operators who are only trying to help people avoid jail...eyeroll.

The caller ID name display showed DGDFSEAZDFESDW and I don't think that is a real company name (LOL).  There was a message on our voice mail box from a robo voice that said that we were being sued by the IRS and blah blah blah.  We blocked the number.

Yep.  I especially liked "...then the only thing I can do is wish you a good luck as this situation unfolds on you."  You'd think they'd at least be smart enough to use proper English. Lame.
