    I did not answer, as I didn't recognize the number. They started to speak "Hello?" on my answering machine but quickly hung up. A scam, for sure.  Do not answer, unless YOU recognise a number that comes on your call display. THAT's why you have call display!  Very worthwhile to get, if you don't already have it.  Then you can BLOCK the number if you don't want them calling again. Google "blocking a phone number" on your landline. Stay safe.
