Got the same message. Before you call back go to the website credit-collections.ca and read up on your rights. The website was put together by someone who was harassed by collection companies so he did his research and is passing on the information to you. There is lots to read but in particular read about SOL or statute of limitations and how you can stop the phone calls. You will find that commercial credit adjusters is often mentioned as one of the sleezier in a sleezy business.

NEW INFO!!!!if You get a call on your CELL phone and the Is hasn’t been coming up, I think they are NOW crossing HUGE privacy lines, somehow their caller ID accessed my contacts and twice now it’s appeared as one of my contact NAMES and the number 204-318-5105. I’m pretty sure, this action by them is 100% illegal as well as the rest of the harrassing they do.

I too have received this call, and it comes up Montreal... and I too have no dealings with The Royal Bank whatsoever..... scam... are we ever going to be free from these calls that are unwarranted... on personal and business lines?

Commercial Credit Adjusters are trying to collect old debts that are past the "Statute of Limitations" in Canada.  Do NOT answer the phone, do NOT talk to them and everything will be OK.
NOTE: There is no rule that prevents a collection agency from attempting to collect on a debt for which the creditor is unable to pursue through the courts because of the Limitations. The basic limitation period from discovery of the debt is two years.  In other words, they cannot legally collect but Commercial Credit Adjusters will try to get some money from you.  Be strong and ignore them.

I've received two calls from this number on two consecutive days. Both mentioned a file and helping me through this pandemic. These calls were to a free Fongo answering service (I get an email with attached MP3 file of message people leave) I set up in Canada 8 years ago before I moved from Canada to Vietnam and it isn't the first time I've gotten calls like this over the years so I phoned them back. I was partly interested because I lived in Winnipeg for 18 years before moving to Ontario, but that was awhile ago. I called back to find out why they were calling, I guess to get an idea why firms like this had been calling over the years and let them know I haven't lived in Canada since 2012. He wouldn't give me any information even though he called me. I confirmed my old address in Winnipeg so it must be something in Winnipeg but that's a good 20 years ago.
