I just got one of these calls but didn't answer...thought to google it and found this forum.  Anyway, I can't remember the number anymore, but I got an automated call on behalf of a dealership once after I took my vehicle in to get checked.  Could this number be used for many different companies like this?  I find when rogers calls you to look for money, there's always a pause, a click then an operator...maybe the same thing?

Calls each day and no one on the other end.

Several weeks ago I had a stupid moment and answered the phone thinking it was someone I knew from Winnipeg.  Ta-da - it was the Rogers telemarketer trying to get me to sign up for TWO phones for ONLY $35/month to supposedly SAVE me money.  For starters, mine is only $18/month and need nothing further, I never use up the free minutes and don't need voicemail. I informed him I didn't have a second person to take the phone, so he said I could have the second as a backup in case I lose mine. I told him that in the 14 years I've had a cell I have never lost it. He tried to give me examples of when I might ever lose my phone and proceeded to tell me about the time he lost his on a fishing trip.  I guaranteed him I wouldn't lose mine on a fishing trip because I do not fish.  On and on.  I had him laughing and he had really silly reasons as to why I should spend twice as much and have two phones.  In the end I told him to just remove me from their calling list and I haven't heard from them since.  He is just a guy probably getting minimum wage trying to probably put himself thru university, as are most who are working for this or other annoying telemarketing companies. I agree, poor choice for a job.  But for an evening I had fun taunting him and best of all, I am no longer on the list.  Now to just get rid of the other 4 or so regular numbers that call and I don't answer.  As I am finishing this I have 800-364-0916 ringing on my phone.  grrrrr

this number calls my house almost every day! I answer it so that I can tell them to take me off there list but no one is ever on the other end.

Yes, 2044875989 is telemarketing, called me on my cel, but I dislike it when you answer and the line is silent. Then, they expect you to answer if they call again.

Why do these people even bother?! They must have time on their hands. Unfortunately, there is no way to block using "Call Screen" because they can find another way to dial into your phone.

Didn't have anyone on the other end. They called last week though and I did get them on the line and I told them I was in a 5 year contract and most certainly not interested, If I hadn't had the reception computer in pieces (doing a repair) I probably would have been smart enough to tell them not to call back. I guess they have no concept of time (4 days is not 5 years).

Rogers is usually pretty good about it. Tell them not to call back and they don't (I did this at our other location).

Update: I got mad enough to call back after several calls with hanging up (I have to answer with the business name every time so it is annoying). All you have to do is listen to the instructions on the phone. I have done this before with rogers on a home line. It works. They may not be nice about calling you but they are decent enough to remove you a majority of the time.

Update 2:Okay so now I am very very confused. This number called again....and I got someone but it was "Grants international"! I told the fellow that I talked to them 2 weeks ago and asked to be removed (which I did as they asked for someone who doesn't work here and ahsnt for 3 years). We will see what comes of this.

That's really weird. I keep call logs so I know I'm not crazy.

They seem to be targeting Realtors now...
And just this morning I thought I herd them all.

Call from this number yesterday to my Rogers cellphone. No message left on voicemail. Toronto area.

I had this number call me it was a country radio statiom and I've been selected to win money???

Caller said he was calling from a radio station and that I could win $1000.00 for listening to 94.3 at 7:10am and being the 94th caller in.  Seemed like he wanted to keep me on the line.

Two calls from this number in the past week to my Rogers cell phone. There was never anyone on the other end of the line.

We've been getting one or two calls a day from this  number for over a month... dead air only...
If anyone knows how to stop these calls, please share.

Mazda Credit Canada...wanting to inspect my pickup truck before its returned in a month.
