number showed up..tried to canada411 it..nothing showed up..so i just googled the telephone number and this is where i ended up..makes me kinda curious as to whom it could possibly be...

I received a call from this number and it was from a person at Psych Health at the Health Sciences Centre, the call back number they provided in their voicemail was a different one, it wouldn't surprise me if its a number that comes out when they make outgoing calls and it doesn't accept incoming calls

not to worry dudes.  this number is the number that Health Sciences Centre uses when someone from a ward desk calls an outside landline.  so if u find 12047750055 on your missed calls, it probably meant that someone from the nursing station at HSC has called. and yea, the number does not accepted incoming calls.

well that bizarre i had that number on my call display at work i did not cal it back yet but after i read the comment i find it bizarre!!!!!

Actually, any outgoing call from Health Science Centre will show up as 204-775-0055.

My dad saw that number on his cell phone as missed call tried calling it and wouldn't accept call. That's odd that it would be health sciences why would they call. Must be wrong number

just received a call from this number. i did not answer as I did not recognize the phone number. how could someone from the HSC get my number

I ignored the call and looked it up and found this page.  
It was such a mistake to put my # on the Do NOT Call List.  
I had never received nuisance calls on my cell until I did.  
I tried calling the number back also and received the same message saying the number does not accept incoming calls.  How irritating.
Good thing I didn't answer, I would be more annoyed if I had to pay on my cell phone bill due to these harassing calls.

Found out here, that is from HSC.

Something needs to be done re this number.
COULD be VERY IMPORTANT as have recently been a patient there.
Number does NOT register properly on my phone,
so I tend to ignore it.

wife has been getting calls 5 or 6 in the last couple of days last one was kinda of wierd. some guy named Patrick talking about ufo's and nazi's and heavy metal. has anyone tried calling the HSC ? I will be tomorrow.

I actually worked at HSC and can tell you that any phone you call out from in HSC (besides pay phones) will show up with the number 204-775-0055 the reason they they do not accept incomming calls from outside lines is because it is a direct line to a ward or medical center if you have recently been to HSC and are awaiting test results or anything like that i would suggest that you call their mainline and get directed to the department you have been to , their mainline number is

This 775-0055 is what shows on call display only but it is actually for  HSC and is not meant for you to call back.  NOTE  if you are awaiting an MRI, CT, or other such tests and have an appointment scheduled or to be scheduled its likely HSC is calling to see if you can come in sooner than expected.  So get your letter that you were sent to advise of your appointment date and call the number on that paper and tell them you received a call is it about your test appointment.

Like what was said numerous times here is that it is a ward phone from HSC. It's important for you all to know that this # is not a "Nursing Station" or phone line from a Doctor, but a "patient phone". The reason they do this is because ALL HSC phone numbers begin with the prefix 787. They made the number different so that patients have some privacy, essentially so that people don't google search 787-#### and discover the patient called from HSC psych ward. If someone other than a patient calls (i.e. a doctor calls, or your are being scheduled for an MRI, a nursing station) the number will show up as "private number" as these are all blocked. I've been getting these calls for the past two days now, and as I am a former HSC employee, recognized it right away. Same deal, no one said a word.
