My Mother is getting the same calls. Put in a pin and she will get a $7000 grant, because she is old.... They want her bank number and routing number to put the money. Why doesn't our government go after these people that are scamming seniors out of their last few pennies.... Oh because it doesn't profit them.....
    • Caller: They don't say

I just got the very same call from (206) 331-4687 (with poor English! ) .  And, they said same as you notated!!  They took my bank account number, and said they we "giving" me $7,846...and I somehow had to pay them $230.00

I'm so distraught, because there are no monies on my bank account, despite they said they'd install the $$ within a few minutes.

I so pray that you might call me and explain what you know about this!!

    Donna -

Sorry, but you have been scammed.

    >> I so pray that you might call me and explain what you know about this!!  <<

Publishing a phone number in a public site, such as this one, almost guarantees it will get calls from even more scammers!  Was that really your phone number, or is it the number of your worst enemy?

If you REALLY gave somebody your bank info, contact your bank IMMEDIATELY!

Things you should learn to believe:

    • There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
    • If it sounds (or looks) too good to be true, it probably is.
    • You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, a car from a caller, or a grant from a gracious government    ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
    • The tooth fairy really does not exist
    • Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
    • It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
    • "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
    • Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
    • The moon is not made of green cheese.
    • The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
    • Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
    • If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
    • You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites.
    • 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!

Yeah, whatever you do, don't give them your personal info. Never ever give your personal information to a person with whom you did not initiate the call.  Stay safe.  I hope you are able to find work or government assistance or something to get you through, but never pay money to get money.  That's called, er, um, gambling.  And in this case, you always lose.
