Scam call - "IRS is filing on you"  left this number to call back and inquire

These people are unreal.  They call you telling you are the subject of an IRS lawsuit. They prey on unsuspecting  individuals. I fear for the elderly, the demented  and those persons who lack sophistication to see this for what it is a scam. Do as I did, don't call the number. Congress  should do something  about this instead of wasting taxpayer's money  and fight among tthemselves. We seem to elect people who are perverse, thieves, liars, molesters and nefarious  by nature. That why we are unable to protect society.

Um.
The caller was, most likely, from Pakistan or India.
Our congress has little to no influence on scammers there.

In any case, there IS a congressional hearing about the problem ... apparently you missed the news.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Guess you missed my concern: the people who will fall victims to this scam. Yes, this issue is before congress, but they haven't  fixed it. Even as a child I loved the "fix". Great expectations. I'm always being told I raise the bar too high. What a pity.

They just called me and I called back and it was a man singing. They need to get these basted

The real fix:
Education.

Yep ... educate yourself or your friends / acquaintances / relatives with the potential phone scams, and use a call blocking service, app or device.  After all, you have locks on your doors, right?  Why not a "lock" on the phone?

In other words, do not depend on Big Brother to protect you from everything.  Try some self-responsibility!

Automated call saying IRS is taking action a suite against you  and call this number 206-866-5597 and dial a code ...believe it was 026. I was sure it was a scam. And checked online  ... and here I am.
Will someone please put a stop to these [***].

Received a message from this number saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit. Call them back immediately. Got a constant busy signal. This seems like a SCAM.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Told me from the us grant dept. Has a very heavy accent.

I spoke to same person.Said to call 6464034586 and give them grant confermation number.i did reverse look up on number that called me.And here I am.he asked my first and last name age and zip code.Jerk.i really could have used 7000.00
