Have had several calls saying I have been awarded $9800 from the government!!!

Is this a scam caller???

If it was about a grant --YES.

Answer get no information on other end just silence. Been getting many calls last few days from numbers along east coast.

I just got two calls, just quiet on the other end, I wonder what this is about scary

Scam caller/male and female callers/both foreign accent/ about a grant/ do not answer..Block number

Call from 202-325-8742 at 9:45am, call from 202-346-7780 11:10am, 4 calls from 202-325-8742 11:11am, 11:12am, 11:13am, 11:14am, call from 206-866-5761 11:34am JUST TODAY! I've blocked every number but this has been going on for days!! I did answer one call today and asked what they wanted; I'm on a government loan list he said I told him no, stop calling and he raised his voice so I hung up.

Lady with strong foreign accent, telling me to call 315-503-1366 to receive grant...

I was called by a female as described by the other posters/ strong foreign accent.. I was told I will receive 9200 dollars but I had to call 315-503-1363... when I called this number another woman answered and she told me that I had to pay $198 in order to receive this money.... does anyone know if this is legit or a scam? (For me it seems like a scam) the first woman who called me was Yolanda.

It's a scam.  Common grant/loan scam originating in India or Pakistan.   Been going on for years. There is no grant/loan.  Simply ignore and block the calls.  DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!

Anyone hit by these IRS/grant/loan/Indian/Pakistani whatever scams,  should consider blocking the following area codes:

also area code  202.

The stupid scammers don't understand the difference between Washington State and Washington DC.
They think that the people they call will think that the Washington State area code calls  come from Washington DC.

Called, left no message, just breathed on phone.  I could hear what was obviously a "boiler' room in background.
