Got a VM saying that this was their final attempt to reach me and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. tried calling the number they left but it either rings busy or no one answers.

Exactly what happened to me...."IRS calling ...final attempt...law suit"..called back and no answer.

call from 722-592-6544 tells you to call 206-905-1542 about IRS lawsuit

I got a message saying IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and I should call 206-905-1542.  When I called this number, no one answered and I was ready to hang up -- but someone finally picked up.  This person, with a rather strong foreign accent, called himself "officer Jack Johnson" and it is IRS, Internal Revenue Service.  He asked me to write down the case number for my case. He said something like, the numerical number in my tax filing does not match with the actual tax that I should have paid, etc, so I owe (can't remember exact figures) more than 5000 dollars.  And he said if I hang up, this case will go to court, then it will cost me more than 20,000 dollars.  
It sounded like voice phishing so I didn't continue the phone call.

I also received a VM saying that the IRS has been trying to reach me (really, because this is the first phone message and I haven't received any direct mail communications) and that they will be filing a lawsuit against me.  

Just got a call as well.  Caller ID showed it was from Massachusetts (413-789-5527--looked it up and it is a land-line phone number).  An automated system stated that this is the last attempt and that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and I should call 206-905-1542 for more information.  When I called back, it just rings and no one answers!

JUST GET A CALL MYSELF ALL THE CIRCUMSTANCE ARE THE SAMETHIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM

I just received the same message- that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. When I called, a man with a very strong accent answered and what I could honestly understand of what he said was that an audit of the years 2008-2012 showed a miscalculation and overpayment to me of over $4000. He said the IRS believes this to be a fraudulent act on my part and he asked directly if this was an intentional act to extort money from the federal government. I asked him if I could get this in writing and he said that I have not responded to their statements....and the rest I couldn't understand but by this time I was certain that something was very fishy about this whole thing. When I told him that I will be waiting to receive written contact from the IRS, he hung up.

I have had several clients get called by this guy who left this phone number.
I called the guy so many times he started calling a "Mother F-er".
He lied and told me his name was Officer Ronnie Williams, badge # 11931.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THEM!
IT IS NOT THE IRS!!!!
The IRS takes 45 minutes to pick up their phone.
This guy picks up immediately. IT IS NOT THE IRS!!!!

Bogus!  IRS does not call,  They correspond via mail.

Got call on 11/24/2014 @ 4:00 in afternoon that said I owe the IRS money and that I should call 206-905-1452 .When I called phone rang and rang but nobody answered.I never heard of an IRS claim not coming in writing.

I was in the shower so it went straight to my mobile phone's VM. Google Voice saved me the transcript from phone # 1-723-597-6544. This robo-caller has been busy today! I didn't bother returning the call.

IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  When I call, number is busy.

I am an attorney and I got this call.  I can tell you that the IRS does not call.  All communication is done by mail.  Particularly communication involving potential litigation.  It is a scam.  Do not respond to it.

Got this call and let it go to VM.  Final notice that IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.  This is the fourth IRS scam call that I've received with different numbers to call back on.
