I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and just got this call.  We do not answer the phone unless there is a name or a message left, or a recognized number.  Also, I was looking for swimming pool pump filters the other day, and now every time I turn on my computer, an ad pops for pool filters (usually in the USA).  There is just NO privacy anywhere anymore.  For this reason, I have no friends on Facebook, and will not get on ANY sharing website or program.

I've been getting calls from 208-398-2039 for the past couple of days. I picked it up and said hello a few times the first time I saw this number and then hung up. I knew right away it was a telemarketer since it takes a few seconds to actually connect to the other end...which could be a sweat shop somewhere in the world. I get around 2 calls per day from this number.

Its a offshoot company related  bell. My guess is they were calling to collect info on when we answer the phone for collection purposes.

This number has been calling my cell phone for the last couple days, about 3-4 times a day and never leaves a message.  I now see I'm not alone in the amount of people this person is calling.  I'm in Oshawa.  I haven't answered as I didn't recognize the area code and knew if I picked it up it would cost me to answer it.  I'm ignoring the calls in hopes that they'll loose interest and stop calling.

Recieve many calls from 208-398-2039 to both my home and work cell.  These calls do use up your minutes and cell phone and some charges do apply depending on the service provider.  How do people get your cell numbers anyway.... this is very annoying and would love for it to stop!!!!

cell phone here - nothing when answered.  suspect may be a 'lower/ "pay off" your debt load' boiler room - scam of course.  I suppose the computer dials and then checks if someone at number (by answering), then another call in cue for the boiler room; likely it rotates the calls and if no-one free to 'do the pitch' it drops the call.
    VERY irritating.
