I got a call from this number and it is a scam. A man with an accent calling himself Brian King with the US Treasury, Office of Legal Affairs. He was trying to get my current address from me but I told him I was
Going to report him for fraud.

Just spoke to 'Jacob Bryant' from the U.S. Treasury Dept. of Legal Affairs calling from 209-565-6426 for our daughter. He also had an accent and stated that It was about a "legal emergency enforcement action on her name."  On an earlier phone message he stated that she'd better 'get an attorney because if you delay calling , it might end up into a legal mess for you.'  These statements were less than professional, so I googled "Dept of Legal Affairs" and found many websites including Consumer Affairs of the US Treasury and FOX59 news report that included this same scripted dialogue. They warn people that this is a Total SCAM!

Received a call from "John Matthews" of the US Treasury Dept Department of Legal Affairs, with a high-pitched heavily accented voice. He asked to speak to my wife regarding an "enforcement action" taken against her. When I pressed for details, he said it was "confidential," and she had been sent a notice a month ago, and she knew all about it, and I would have to ask her. He provided his phone number 209-565-6426, and an address 1533 Lakewood Drive, Modesto, CA, which appears to be a valid address for the IRS. I could hear the boiler room chatter in the background. He then made some dire comment about needing to hear from her within the hour. It's a scam.

U.S. Dept. of Treasury - (209) 565-6381 - Law Enforcement Action against me with immediate arrest warrant due to tax evasion with an exact delinquency amount. "Need to prepare bail documentation due to imminent jail time".  "Payment plan available today."  

Yes, because they always call ahead to warn you that you're about to be arrested.

Got the same call from this knucklehead.  I laughed out loud when he said he was with the Treasury Department and hung up.

"This message is intended for Elizabeth hey bill(?) Elizabeth this is Jacob brian(?) with the Department of legal affairs and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal notification for you in regards to the enforcement actions that I've been started on your name. My number is 209-565-6426. Again it's 209-565-6426. If for any reason you're busy to call back. I would suggest you to have your retained attorney to do it for you. I still ain't calling me at my tank(?) up into a legal message for you. I hope you would take this flight(?) and call me back. This is Jacob Brian with the Department of legal affairs. Looking forward to speak to you until then have a blessed day and goodbye."

Just got a call from this scammer, looks like last comment post was from Dec. 14th. he is still out there doing this, please be aware.

This moron called me, very heavy accent and barely could speak English. Can't remember what he said is name was, it obviously was a fake name, and said he was calling from Department of Treasury Legal Affairs. I laughed out loud and gave him an earful. Hate these scammers.

Just got a message from Lee June with a very heavy accent. Stating he was from the US Treasury Dept Legal affairs. As I work with IRS issues I know this is the Scam that is going on. They will NEVER CALL you before you have received several letters from them (IRS).  They will use the US mail first and the final letters will be certified and say FINAL Attempt or something in that vain. If you call the IRS or other entities in the government they will usually give you their name and id number.  Do Not respond to this.  

Got the same call from (209) 565-6426 telling me I would be arrested for 6 months without bail for not paying my 2010 income tax correctly.  I questioned him on how do I verify this information and he said that it was not public information but that it would be now and they would arrest me within 2 hours, then hung up.  Didn't ask me for anything.

Looks like "Jacob Bryant" of US Treasury Department of Legal Affairs has moved to a different number 213-437-6106 out of LA CA. Still with the law enforcement action game
