I received a phone call from someone named "Anthony" and he did not name the company that he was representing.  He said that the feds were coming to my door and that he hoped I enjoyed the weekend because on Monday I would not have a job.   He would not tell me who he represented, nor would he allow me to speak with anyone else.

I did not know who he was.  He wouldn't give me any information.  He just rattled off my name, soc security # and address.  He knew I had been incarcerated and threatened to send me back to jail.  He said "F*c* you!" and hung up on me when I started asking him questions like what is this in reference to and who do you work for.

If anyone has any information on this company, please forward via post.  I would like to pursue legal action against their tactics.  They are harrassing and threatening, causing stress on anyone they call.

That same situation just happened to my daughter...same script and everything!  I want to report these people and their tactics.  It frightened my daughter as he would not give her any other information.  He used profanity toward her and hung up in her face when she began asking him questions.

OMG!  That same thing happened to me on Tuesday.  He did not say what company he worked for, but he said he was representing a company that I had recieved a loan from!  He then proceeded to try and verify my name, address and social security number with me.  I asked him to name the company he worked for and he changed the subject on me.  He said his name was Anthony Late?  Layte?  Lait??  Something like that. He spoke in broken english and sounded like the squishy guy from the Simpsons.  He asked if i wanted to settle in court or out of court.  I told him that I would like to settle out of court and he transferred me to his 'legal department.'  There, a guy came on, possibly the same one and told me that the police were coming to my job and that they were not responsible if I lost my job.  Of course I freaked out and hung up on him.  The guy had also asked me if I had ever been arrested for this and for that.  Is this a collection agency or a lawyer?  This guy called Anthony said he was a 'legal representative'.

Ealier today a guy name anthony lee called my employer, sounding like the guy from the simpsons. he told me to take down his direct number that is how I found this message board. he told me from the State Investigation Department of California. He gave me a "docket" and told me I was going to be prosecuted for fraud in the state of CA for a $200 loan. So he started reading a "supposed" court letter. i asked him to send me a copy of the notice...he started saying "what what you know what you signed...okay fine if you don't want to pay you will just waste your time go to fed prison or you can take care of it today." I said I do want to pay but I juist want a copy of the paperwork Anthony then said to me "okay fine you don't want to pay and hung up on me." The call was ridiculous

OK, here is all the poop on these creeps. Yes I got the call today...the guy identified himself as "Anthony Lee" claiming to be from the "Pennsylvania State Investigation" office, that a lawsuit was filed against my wife and US Marshals were being dispatched to arrest her (even saying if she resisted she would be shot!) He then went on to say "all it takes to clear this matter up today is your credit card number." Of course I started yelling at the clown and hung up on him. He then called my wife at work! She was very upset, of course. So I did some snooping around and found out this number is in Stockton, CA and is owned and serviced by the phone company called Level 3 Communications. You can Google them. Their phone numbers are: 877-453-8353 (customer service) and 877-877-7758. Call and complain…One of these should get you a live person (hit "1") when asked if you want to file a "voice ticket") - they eventually connected me with their Security & Fraud office, where the guy told me yes, that was one of their valid numbers, and that India-based scammers are using that number as a "spoof" to call on people and try to get their CC numbers. Some people are just downright evil and its getting worse. I'd love to know how they got my wife's last 4 digits of her SSN and her phone number at work! The Fraud & Security guy said these Indian people probably hacked a database somewhere and got our personal info. BEWARE!

    Stupid
This guy by the name of Anthony called me and said that I owed money on a payday loan which I had taken so of course I thought it was a lagitamite call.  He told me he had my name, address and ss# which he did and that if I did not pay on that day by western union I was going to jail.  That a warrant for my arrest was going to be issued and that I would be arrested at my job.  Stupid as I am I got scared went to Western Union and paid the money.  I just was afraid of losing my job and I work for Lawyers.  Anyway, today he called again looking for interest owed on the loan.  I told him to stop calling and he would not no lie he called 5 timesback to back.  I had no choice but to tell my boss what was going on (an attorney) so he got on the phone with him and he would not give his full name nor his company name.  He said that he had could not pass him to his supervisor and instead him the attorney for his name and bar number. The attorney told him not to call the office ever again and that he was going to report him and he said Sir we will soon meet and laughed and hung up the phone!  I was the stupid one that was scammed out of alot of money.  So don't be stupid like us was and just hang up.

    Bad, bad people...

I suggest taping the conversation (let them know you are) and request they send you documentation validating the debt they are attempting to collect.  Under no circumstances should you send these people any money - they have proven repeatedly it is a scam.  Keep your cool...

Familiarize yourself with the federal law pertaining to debt collection (http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm).  If after speaking with the representative you feel as though they violated the statutes by threatening arrest and/or threatening or actually contacting your employer, contact the Florida Attorney General's office and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov).

The Florida Attorney General's office is currently suing the group associated with this phone number (http://myfloridalegal.com/__852562220065EE67. ... bass, associates).  You can file an online complaint at http://myfloridalegal.com/contact.nsf/contact.

    Good luck!
