Picked up the phone.  Silence,  Hung up.

Called office.  No voicemail. Called back.  Dead air.  Probably a filthy scammer.

no message left.

At first he introduced himself that he's from a government agency. Had Tried to ask for the last 4 digit of my ss number and when I gave it he said it was invalid. He repetitively had me say it. Then finally, he asked me to give the full number. That's the time I sensed that probably he's a scammer.

Called 2x on the same day, i did not answer. Left a voice mail of a recorded voice saying "to find out more information about this case file call the number back" and repeated the number

I got a call from this number twice today.  The second time, there was just silence.  The first time, it was a robo-call telling me this was the IRS and it was their final attempt to contact me and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me.  I hung up at this point.  I have gotten these same calls before.  Why isn't something being done about these morons!!!!!!!!!!!?????????

Complete Scam.  Said I had a lawsuit with the IRS and to call them back.  Which I do not... I hope no one falls for this and gives them any information.

Same as everyone else...Computerized robo call regarding IRS lawsuit.  The IRS will not call you, nor would they use a computerized voice to disguise a real person.

Got the call today, 4/21/2016 and they didn't ask for anything other than my name which was all they got. I didn't provide any S.S. # but I will say that it did throw me for a loop since the time frame that they had mentioned was the time I switch to a new tax preparer. They mentioned that a local officer was on his way to serve me a subpoena which did freak me out but after some searches on the net I came across this site and felt like sharing what happened.

Same as the rest - Robo call saying the IRS is suing me. Did not call them. I actually reported this to the IRS

robo call, caller id says San Antonio TX says being sued by IRS, scam. I told them to send it by mail which is where it would come from first. I am in Ct so the info would have come from Hartford Ct or Andover Mass

yeah, they just called me too , and its true why no one is doing anything about these scammers !!

I got a phone call twice today from these idiots. It is an IRS scam. They're open people fall for it and give all information but let me tell you the IRS has said that they will never call you it would only send certified mail to you if there was a problem

Received a message from this number twice in one morning, saying they have a lawsuit and the are from the IRS. Really IRS would not contact you by phone this way. This has scam all over it.
