This is a SCAM people! I've heard people say that this number is connected to the USAA fraud department but when they called me they said they where calling in connection with my family's mortgage. I told them that the one they are asking to speak with is not home.

I got a call from them and this lady left a extension.  She said it was a 4 digit extension and USAA only has 5 digit extensions.  Make sure to check the account within a few hours after this call to verify no fraud had occurred.  Appreciate everybody before me that gave advice

They called me but I never picked up. When I went to log into my recently opened USAA account online, I found it was blocked by security so I called them. They just wanted to verify some info.

USAA calls from 21 phone numbers:

This is the USAA number and they are probably calling to let you know you are late/behind on your payments for something.  If you get a call from this number and don't want to answer it, just contact USAA and you will find out what they want.

Received a call today from USAA calling about my mortgage pre-approval. It was a legitimate call and I called them back at the 1-800 # they provided (which is the same one on their website).

Please keep in mind that there is technology available to spoof phone #s on caller-ids. ALWAYS, Always, always check the company website and only call back the 1-800 #s listed there. For USAA their contact list can be found by going to http://www.usaa.com and selecting Contact Us on the bottom banner.

I was trying to sell my car to this Russian woman.  She told me USAA was her bank.  I Received a phone call from this number requesting that I fax my car's title to a Toll Free number (866-384-9145).  Sounded suspicious to me since 866 was not a Texas area code.  I called USAA and they told me this was a scam.

    Seller beware!

I have several accounts with USAA and received a missed call on my cell last nite from this number.  At about the same time last nite, I received a call on my home line, but was too busy to catch it, and they did not leave a message.  I called the 800 number for the credit card department at USAA today, and they advised that they had no record of trying to make contact w/me last nite, so this could be fraudulent.  However, I recently started some digital downloads to my new phone (charged back to my USAA cc), something I have never done before, so it is possible that someone tried to call me from USAA to ask about these charges.  I checked my account online today, and there is no record of any fraudulent activity.  I am not going to call back the 210 number.

I received a call from this number tonight stating they were from USAAs Security Dept. and there was a fraud alert and subsequently a freeze on our debit card. I was a bit suspicious, looked the number up online, found this site. Became even more suspicious. So, called USAA from their number listed on their website. They do have a security department and there was an actual fraud on our debit card. They cleared it up immediately.

Lesson: if ever suspicious, just call USAA on a line that you know is theirs.

The left a voice mail from USAA about a check "I'm calling you to discuss the check we talked about earlier this morning"  According to these posts here, must be a huge SCAM.
I have do not have accounts with USAA.

A call from this number is a legitimate call from USAA on matters of business they have with me.  They usually ask for a telephone password which I've had for years with them but NEVER ask for any other confidential information on a call.  They already have it all in the file.  USAA is a great organization and, when I get behind on something, they call and ask me about it but are always very professional and courteous.  I wish I had all of my business with these people.  I get creditor calls on other matters that I'm behind on to.  This economy has killed me but these guys keep me going on their part.

Called my work phone today stating he was calling from USAA to do an employment verification.  Of course I ignored it as it's most likely a collections call.

I actually just verified @ USAA that this is a good fax number:

    866-384-9145

It is for the auto department. I just sold a car on Craig's List and that was the number I was told to fax title ownership verification to.... I called to verify @ USAA and they confirmed this is a good fax number.... not a scam.

I sent my info... I'll write back if somehow this did not get through, but it seems to me to be legit, and I hope not to type an update.

I got this number and after viewing these posts saying it was USAA I called USAA with a direct 800 that I have just to be safe. At the same time I went on my account online and there were fraudulent charges to my account. So because of that I'm going to assume the number who called me is legit. Whenever I get a number that I don't recognize I don't answer and let them leave a message. If they claim to be USAA I call them back using a number that I have been given from their website just to be safe.

Same thing, they called, confirmed some info but didn't ask me any specific phishing style questions.  Told me the charges were fraudulent then said they'd mail me a new card.  I called USAA from the number on the back of the card and they confirmed that nobody had called me or cancelled my credit card.  Very weird.

Be wary of any of these post that say this is a valid number from USAA.  I too have received a number of calls from this number of the past month.  Due to the time of the calls I have never answered and there has never been a message left.  After doing a search for the number and finding these posts, I contacted USAA via their 800 number.  There are no flags on my account and there are no messages in their system that they have been trying to contact me.  I am calling to block the number.
