call from this number asking for owner of business, when asked why it was the free google listing spiel. I said I was only visiting whilst out on day release but would gladly sign any checks needed if I was allowed some crayons as I'm not allowed sharp pointy objects like pens.

Today they have called 6 times so far, exactly 7 minutes apart each time. When I answer there is no one there. This is super annoying, I have children trying to nap! I wish there was something I could do about this!! Once a day, fine, but every seven minutes????

I got a call today here in Canada and this guy asked for the owner. I said I need to know the reason for the call so I can get you the owner. But when he said they are pro web design company based in UK and have office in US. Then I got bit suspicious  and asked him call back that we are busy. I'm sure he had an indian accent as I can't be wrong being indian.

The phone # 212-773-1546 is Google. The guy had an accent and was saying he was wanting to up grade our business on the Google site. The DO NOT CALL LIST REGISTRY for Canada does not apply to the US telemarketers. They have not integrated the registry between Canada and the US yet. US telemarketers can still call.

Dead air at the other end.......................... Wasting my time - very annoying

don't presume the call is from n.y. as telemarketers are likely spoofing the phone numbers that appear on our call displays. they can make anything they want to appear there using the software programs that they use to generate their phone calls to us. we just get selected by whatever lists they are using to make their calls. if you answer and there is no one there it's only because you didn't answer quickly enough the software has already hung up on you because it doesn't want to waste the telemarketers time. it generates several calls at once and whoever answers first wins the prize of the telemarketers call. please consider who you give your information to. like simply giving it to the cashier at Walmart or wherever. it just helps them complete the info generated from your credit card. then who kows what they do with it, sell it to telemarketers for a profit. and it's all your fault for trusting them. just give them 555-5555 if they insist on one. just use common sense to protect yourself.

Got a call on December 4, 2013. It's probably just some NSA contractors confirming phone numbers for tracking.

we get many of these silent calls, usually our call display says "private caller" or "unavailable" but this is the second time recently this number has displayed, with no-one speaking on the other end, so we decided to Google it... and we are not alone!

Why do whoever-it-is do this? It beats me what they think they have to gain harassing people randomly.

Received a call from this number. I picked up just before the answering service clicked in, but I was silent. Eventually the caller hung up. Unfortunately, the number had two ++ in front of the number and I am unable to block it. Guess it's time for the loud whistle again.

No one on the line

We have been getting these random calls over the last few months, sometimes 4-5, day and night.  Not able to reach anyone when trying call-back. Many different numbers too.  Contemplating phoning police/CRTC as this is verging on harassment.

You hit the nail on the head, nothing more annoying then being pulled off a job to answer the phone when it's another [***] solicitor trying to get your business. They don't get it... "Don't call us = we'll call you" if we're that desperate...

This is a robo auto dailer that all it does is call numbers in sequence and if you answer - even with an answering machine, then it knows its a valid number, hangs up and goes to the next.

Then you number and 1000's more are then sold to the telemarketers and you are then gettnig calls from them.

There is no way to stop it so just live with it.

I'm in Vernon, BC and got 2 calls from this number today.  I tried to block with Telus but was unsuccessful! Telemarketers are getting smarter Gosh Darn It!!
