- Jim| 3 repliesI called this guy back after he left two messages on my voice mail at work. His name is David Wong, and he claims he works for Casimir Capital, which is a Wall Street investment firm (according to a quick Google search). I have no idea how he got my number, or why he thinks I'd be dumb enough to take investment advice from someone I've never heard of, and who has their caller ID blocked.
I have not been able to get their website to load. The phone number is within the same block as Casimir Capital's main line ((212) 798-1300, according to whois data for casimircapital.com).- Caller: Casimir Capital
- Call type: Telemarketer
- SteveI got two calls from this same guy at work - David Wong. I won't be calling hime back. It's either a scam or cold call.
- Jake salen replies to JimI got a call from him as well . His voice mail was stating that he has an urget message for me . I have no intention of calling him back . thanks for providing the information it was helpful
- Ken B replies to JimThank you for the information. I just got a call from this guy and now have no intention of calling him back.
- Peter C| 2 repliesI also have gotten a few calls - now I know who he is and will not be calling back
Thanks - AndyI got a similar call from a Bill Johnson also from this same number and company. I have not returned his call and do not intend to.
- Caller: Casimir
- Eric WReceived 3 messages on my business phone from a Bill Johnson dated 12/12, 12/17, and 12/26. His speech is somewhat slurred so it is difficult to make out the company name ("kass-ih-murr"). I see from other posts that it could possibly be "Casimir." In the third message, he said he was "having trouble reaching" me and sounded annoyed but would not explain the nature of his call. His callback numbers include 212-798-1312 and 212-798-1314.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- T in Dallas| 1 replyMore of the same -- I returned the call form Bill Johnson @ 212.798.1312 and upon determining this was a cold call I asked him to take me off his call list and to respect my request. He became belligerent and informed me that he didn't have a call list and wouldn't respect my request.
Nice way to build a client base! - Craig S replies to T in DallasI also received 2 insistent calls from Bill Johnson indicating he was from "Casimer", though not what it was regarding. Glad I found this before I wasted any of my time.
- jimbondI love caller ID and I love the internet. I also received an unsolicited voice message from Bill Johnson of Casimir (as you stated Eric W, his speech sounded somewhat slurred, so it sounded like me trying to say my address to a cabbie after partying for 6 hours). Glad I know not to waste my time. Thanks for posting, everyone!
- Caller: Claimed to be from "Casimir"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- anonymous(ex cold calling stockbroker) replies to Peter C| 1 replyshows how open minded you are peter c..anyone who uses this database as a way to not return phone calls are losers and have nothing better to do with your time..im sure those men work real hard to try and get you to return their calls whether cold or not and this is just a cheap way to get out of being a decent human being and returning calls that lots of time was spent trying to get you on the phone whether or not u are interested or not..u should give them the courtesy of a returned call not by placing their name on sites like these..
- js replies to JimI keep getting messages from this guy on my business phone. It shows as a private number and he sounds upset that I have never called him back. Clearly this is a bottom feeding broker at best
- willz replies to anonymous(ex cold calling stockbroker)Casimir was fined $37,500 by FINRA on May 30, 2007 for violating the do-not-call rules. Presumably they consider this an acceptable cost of doing business, since it doesn't seem to have deterred them from starting up again.
