- RBKI just got a call from this number. My wonderful Truecaller app gave me a hint that it's a scam number. Didn't bother to answer it after seeing that hint.
I suggest to use that TrueCaller apo- Call type: Telemarketer
- ACall started off "as a preferred American Express cardholder..." (which I am not) so I knew it was a scam and hung up
- Caller: "Amex"
- CBB940P.M call and no message....im on the DoNotCall list already

- O'DawgLet me offer a possible common denominator. Did you ever go to a timeshare presentation where the reward was an AMEX gift card? It's the only link that I have between my phone # and "AMEX". I also get other timeshare/hotel related calls.
- Caller: Amex?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AnonymousMiddle Eastern scammer. Amex offer wants credit card number for fantastic deals to travel around the world for 2 years.
- Caller: Fake Amex

- UnrelatedI've gotten two calls from this outfit today. They used a number in Dallas for the other one. There is no way my phone number could be connected with Hilton or American Express because nobody I don't know gets it. Only about three people I know, but am not related to, have it. Any connection between these calls and the companies the robot mentions is pure coincidence.
The fact that they are grossly illegal in several ways says these calls have nothing to do with American Express or any other legitimate company. Those people might annoy us with telemarketing, but they would annoy us legally.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Paula MerrittI am on the no call list/ who is this?

- GlennCall started off using American Express (it's not). The caller is from a call center in Cancun, Mexico trying to get you to purchase a time share presentation. Gave me the website caribbeanview.net. You can call them at 800-982-1278.
The call is random and has nothing to do with clicking on anything or accidentally agreeing to someone's hidden terms. Once they realize they have reached a valid number they will continue to call. I personally have received over 60 of these calls and try to speak with the caller each and every time. Being on the Do Not Call list does not protect you from scammers who ignore the law.- Caller: caribbeanview.net

- ?!?This number keeps calling me around 8:30 or 8:40pm every other night. Really?! Got to be a scam when I tried to call it back it said the number was out of service. Has to be a scam
- Bothered replies to VF| 2 repliesNever happened. Haven't agreed to allow a company to share my info. Period. If it is in the terms of service, then I decline the service and whatever it is they are offering. Also - this company called after 10 pm. Telemarketing hours end at 9 pm. Calling after 10 pm for telemarketing is illegal.

Most people do not thoroughly read the entire Terms of Agreement (Terms and Conditions, Terms of Service or Terms of Use) and many companies sneak in a Consent clause that stipulates they can share information and you are giving consent by putting a check mark in Terms of Agreement where that consent is hidden in without realizing it.Quote:Haven't agreed to allow a company to share my info
They do that because you have to agree to the terms of the service or product in order to use it, so its a trick to get your consent...or you don't get to use it. They also know most people don't fully read the entire Agreement, so its a clever marketing strategy thats is very effective at sharing information among other companies.
