True.  Thing is, how you going to find them.  And even if found, what can anyone do?  Nothing.  The local governments do little and there's nothing the US government can do.

We got one too from this #. Said to get to our PC and log in because Google was reporting problems. My wife knew it was a scam... the caller said "Are you kidding?" My wife: "Are YOU kidding?" on it went until he said f*** y** a bunch of times. Was pretty comical actually, hope he calls back...

Caller in heavy accent: (something) network (something something) directory (something)
Me: I can't really understand you
Caller: (something something) hangs up

Must not have been important :-)

The caller ID actually said 442034552452 but the number was 213 area code I bet its a relay if you look the other number up it's more of the same: Someone impersonating a Microsoft rep trying to steal your money, your identity, or if possible both.

calls says my computer is giving them an error

Two calls this morning from two different numbers.  Both numbers claim to be regarding our Windows computer.  Both calls were from males with Indian accents.  I asked the second caller named Jack how he got my number and he actually called me a "son-of-[***]".  Other number was 414-332-8767

Nobody was there when I answered.

I have received calls from this same jerk on 7 different numbers, all from different area codes.  Blocked them all.  How stupid can one person be.  He also has called from 209-631-2059, 403-555-0127, 517-555-0137 (notice the similarity of the last two) 678-365-0282, 956-460-5604, 989-821-6962, and now 213-271-1644.  Hope someone finally tracks him down and gives him what he deserves.

I got the same call and when I did not answer, they immediately and I do mean, IMMEDIATELY, called with a different phone number. I don't answer any number that I can't look up and see what all of you write. So thank you for taking the time.

I made a contact on my phone that is: Blocked Phone Numbers.
When they call and I check the numbers, I add them to the contact already there and block them. Now, I have a long list of these numbers under this one identity, never to bother me again.  Just thought I would share how I do this.

Does not leave messages and when called back number out of service.

This number has called me twice this week, I didn't answer either time. When I called back, as a poster above noted, my mobile carrier notified the number had been changed or disconnected. BLOCK!

Have been receiving calls from 213-271-1644 identifying themselves as Windows Services.  Supposedly windows is "receiving messages from my computer" about dangerous downloads.  Asking me to go on my
computer ...at that point, I got rid of them.

Have had several calls from this number.  Re subscribed to the no call list.  Was advised not to speak to anyone at all.  So I don't even answer any more.

I am an IT Security specialist. I love it when these people call cause I mess with them. These people claim to be a Representative for Microsoft and think they are going to gain access to my computer. I am sorry but no one gains access to my network. This is a complete SCAM and I feel sorry for anyone that falls for their line of crap and allows them access. I made them hang up on me. They don't like it when I start calling them out on their crap! I don't think this will be the last time they call me either!

Call everyday leaving no message getting annoying

I got the same call - claiming to be with Microsoft and was going to help me "fix" my computer.  These people are such losers.  I told him he was a lying scam artist and that he should be ashamed of himself.  On a similar call a few months back, I told them the same thing but I also asked him what his parents would think about what he was doing.  He got so flustered that he couldn't get out a sentence that made sense, and then he finally said he was going to call me again and again because he didn't like me.  That really hurts my feelings you loser.

Love to play wit these fools...I have 12 computers...Ok I am typing for you but my screen is very fuzzy!  FIX MY SCREEN! FIX MY SCREEN!  When they get mad I just tell them to run along now and go have sex with your camel!

The called, left no message. Meanwhile it's an LA number which means it would have been before 6 a.m. As I am on EST. checked 800notes, and knowing it was a scan figures I would call the number back. It rang once and I get an auto recording that this number, (213) 271-1644 Los Angeles, CA, is out of service. No more than 2-3 minutes passed between them calling me and me calling back.
